Day 1: Got this in my Santa sack and let me tell you I must have really been bad in 2020! Easter egg dye, water, some spice and diluted red currants. To say this has a short finish would be an understatement. This wine is totally made for the consumer that slams their wine and looks for fun labels. 65 points Day 2: Sweeter. Now we are talking. Spice and sweet fruits. Cardboard after taste. Big improvement as it is now! 68 points Day 4: Wow is this sweet now! Candied fruits in the house. Acidity almost non existent. Had to drink a cup of coffee to kill the taste. 67 points Day 5: A little better. Fruit not as canided and some nice smoke notes. Never give up on a wine. 70 points Recommendation: If you are a label shopper go for it. If you want something about the same price range that is good then buy Substance Cabernet from Washington.

This is such a great wine to hang out with friends and sip. I originally bought it because I liked the label (my son is a wrestler and has gone to a national tournament called Freakshow) and it was at Costco, so glad I did. It is one of my go-to wines. Beautiful deep purple, notes of blackberry and light pepper, holds up really well with multiple day drinking (using my vacuum sealer).
Retail $17. I am not entirely sure, but I think once that Michael David sold off the 7 Deadly Zins brand, this brand became their flagship and main focus. I'll have to give David Phillips a call and pry it out of him. Not surprisingly, this is a fruity, fruity wine. And big, really big. It's also fun, boisterous, and jammy--kind of the antithesis of Lodi, as a matter of fact. The palate is equally big and jammy as one might expect from a wine called "Freakshow." This is not the wine, perhaps for a candlelit dinner at home with the newly identified love of your life, but when the crew comes over to watch the game? Or for homemade sloppy joes slathered in coleslaw? Oh yeah. Gimme some o that. thedrunkencyclist.com

It’s ok. If your intent is to “drink” as opposed to “taste” then this might be alright. For $17 I guess you go do worse, but I also know you could do better.

Cans. First time drinking wine from a can. Similar if not identical to the same wine from a bottle. (Note: poured into and drunk from a wine glass.) Meant to be drunk right away. Fruity without being overly sweet. Lacking nuance, complexity, etc. Very drinkable.

Deep purple colored. Strong vanilla on the nose with some full dark berries and plums. Medium to full bodied with little detectable tannic influence and a bit flabby. Flavors of dark cherries and blueberries, and some perceptible heat on the finish. Pleasant for what it is.

Discovered at Costco and thought I would chime in. Firstly it is a $15 bottle so my expectations are low. This wine is an enjoyable but mostly due to its well balanced mouthfeel. Tame fruits and virtually non-present tannin combine to form an approachable "pedestrian" wine.
The fruits are way to unselected as sour & bitter notes characterize the taste. When in mouth the wine remains acidic and untamed but given its balanced mouthfeel it becomes bearable and in fact ok.
Look .... I love exotic and well produced great wine, i enjoy good wine and praise the accolades of any well produced and consumer driven wine (and you know what I mean). I also tolerate mediocre wines when, where entertained, it is the only option but .... better than beer.
All that said I find a wine like this "better than most" right now. Also given my comments, the wine is good and worth trying. Don't wait as this will not improve and It really should be consumed within the next year.

Nose of cinnamon, vanilla, oak. Taste is smooth muted fruit, berries and plums, with slight vanilla. Everyday drinker. One of the better wines you can find at the grocery store. Solid 87

Brown sugar and some smoke notes brought some barbecue sauce thoughts to mind. Fruit was dried black, raisin, prune, perhaps black cherry. Generally pleasant but the tannin was not controlled enough and felt sharp. This was acceptable day one but worse the next day. Med acid, med+ alc, dry.

If it didn’t say Cab on the label, I’d have thought this was a blend. Drinks like a solid mid priced table wine. As for being a Cab, not so much.
Full and dense. A bit sweet with dark fruits and slight smoke.
