Last bottle of a case, not much fruit left compared to five years ago but still a decent drink. If you blind tasted this now you would would be hard pressed to figure out the varietal. Sweet oaky briar/pruny nose, sweet entry with strawberry overtones, the finish is still quite nice with juicy acidity making you want more.

this zin was full and jammy with lots of dark berry fruit and spice, and also a bit of licorice. heat wasn't bothersome. 706 cases made, aged 19 months in french and american oak. 93 points connoisseur's guide to wine.

(from memory) Blue/purple in color, big primary nose of raspberry/blackberry fruits with hints of straw, palate had lots traditional briary fruit, alcoholic was kept in check, medium smooth finish with hints of vanilla, went great with the BBQ

Very dark ruby color. Too much oak..Opened up after an hour of being decanted.

Losing some fruit so you are left with more oak. Drink up if you got some.

smooth and easy drinking but losing a bit of its zinfandel spicy character.

A bit hot at first then it mellowed and drank well. Blacberry, plum and other brambly notes.
