This was really out of balance and it tasted more like a Gris and not in a good way. It has a sharpness and tannic edge while the fruit was underwhelming. Some saltiness was also prominent.

Just had to open after trying the Jessup SB 2019. I unfortunately must go with the Jessup. Honing was tangy but Jessup was smoothing and this allowed the fruit to emerge. Both were just lovely. Find em and compare.

From half bottle. Solidly Good / Very Good-. Fine typicity, perhaps showing a bit of RS though? Nice ripe orchard fruit, moderate acidity. This is a pleasing, versatile wine. 13.5% abv

Bombastic tropical fruit on the nose with peaches, grapefruit, lychee and guava. Good balanced acidity but still a load of citrus on the palate. Finish is slightly grassy with a touch of cream.

A more citrusy SB with a freshness that is just so lovely.
Initial nose is lemon with a small neutral amount of tin or metal aromatic. In mouth the wine is sharp an edgy. Flavors are lemon then grapefruit and finishes with sweet mango which leaves no acidic reaction. Like the reserve it is well balanced.

This iteration of Honig's Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from three counties (Napa 63%, Lake 29% and Solano 8%). As such, although not stated on the bottle, it constitutes a "North Coast" AVA bottling. Very pale yellow/green in color, it offers aromas of citrus, kiwi, white peaches and hay. Light-bodied, unoaked, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%) and with flavors mirroring the nose, it holds itself together on the mid-palate and concludes with a grassy, medium-length finish. Enjoy this pleasant summertime sipper as an apéritif or with light fare. Drink now-2022.

Done as part of a virtual tasting of Sauvignon Blancs. One of my favorite California Sauvignon Blancs. Lighter in color. Lacks a little acidity. Good nose with floral, peach, nectarine and mango aromas and flavors. Short finish. Good balance, but could benefit from more acidity.

Agree with Calpedaler. This is not like past years, which have always been excellent. Perhaps it’s because the grapes are coming from elsewhere in California now.

Pale yellow-green in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of lemons/limes, guava & kiwi with overtones of floral notes & lemongrass, stony, herbs & minerals. Light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of lemons/limes & white grapefruit with lemongrass, stony, herbs & minerals. Lingering off dry finish. Drinks quite well at present & may develop with an additional year of aging. Good QPR. It should be noted it is no longer labeled "Napa" but is a blend of "63% Napa, 29% Lake County & 8% Solano County" which may account for the variation in style from previous years. Nevertheless, this wine does not warrant a score of "77" unless it was on off bottle. However, if you are like me, then you toss aside the lowest & highest scores & average out the rest to arrive at a more realistic & objective score.

been drinking the Honig SB and reserve SB every year for the last 15. Always been a reliable performer as a good party wine or hot day on the deck. I'm not sure what happened to it 2019, but it's the first time it's disappointed. Normally would give it an 88-90. Being charitable and giving this an 80

Light, not as crisp as some. Good nose with floral, peach, nectarine and mango aromas and flavors.Short finish. Good balance, but lacking the acidity of many sauvignon blancs.

Chez Genèse/Compass Virtual Tasting (Home, Greensboro, NC): Very SB-y. Pale, barely tinged yellow. Clear. Citrusy and grassy nose. Ripe and tropical, with zippy acidity to finish. Medium
Weight.

Muted nose of lemon peel and cut grass. Sharp, and not in a good way. Thin on the palette. Little expression of terroir. Disappointing.

Platinum, almost clear.
Nose: Muted.
A burst of lemon mingles with easy flavors of kiwi, tangerine, quinine, and a light slate note at the end. Very light in feel. Drink now.
86.

DEfinately smells like Napa SB. Not horribly grassy but there. LIvely mid palate with the Cali weight to it. Works it out at $16.
