The winery website only indicates “diverse” varietals but the Quebec liquor crown corporation (Société des alcools du Québec or SAQ) describes the blend as 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Merlot. The brilliant copper pink hue shines seductively indeed. Lovely tropical aromas including papaya and cantaloupe with a splash of strawberry spill from the glass. Slightly spritzy on entry with a bracingly tart Granny Smith apple taste and a squirt of citrusy grapefruit. Decent length on the palate with loads of bright acidity not suppressed by the 38 gm/L residual sugar. Somewhat flat in the midsection (unlike me!) but overall a very drinkable alcohol free rosé built for seafood and Asian cuisine. Only 17 cal/100 ml.
