Weingut Josef LEITZ Eins Zwei Zero Rosé Alcohol free N/V (Germany) Nosy about this rosé? Various red varietals are used but not specifically mentioned on the label. The winery website only indicates “diverse” varietals but the Quebec liquor crown corporation (Société des alcools du Québec or SAQ) describes the blend as 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Merlot. The brilliant copper pink hue shines seductively indeed. Lovely tropical aromas including papaya and cantaloupe with a splash of strawberry spill from the glass. Slightly spritzy on entry with a bracingly tart Granny Smith apple taste and a squirt of citrusy grapefruit. Decent length on the palate with loads of bright acidity not suppressed by the 38 gm/L residual sugar. Somewhat flat in the midsection (unlike me!) but overall a very drinkable alcohol free rosé built for seafood and Asian cuisine. Only 17 cal/100 ml.
