Nose shows violets an faint light earth and black fruit aromas, Smooth mouthfeel of black plum skins, bresola, dried bay leaf, and hints of tarragon. White pepper starts the finish of round tannins, black olive, black currant, metallic ore, and an oak finale. Very smooth and polished but it lacks pizzaz.

This is an excellent wine. Full stop! But the fact that I acquired it through my club membership for $39 makes it a screaming deal!
The color was quite dark, or maybe the lighting in our VRBO was just not very good. Whatever the reason, it poured into our glasses as very close to opaque in a dark reddish-purple hue. I suspect it would have been better if I had let it breathe a bit, but it was darn good a PnP. The nose had smoke and dark raspberries. There also seemed to be a floral essence that we could not put our finger on, well, our taste buds on. The palate was dark fruits - blueberries and dark raspberries along with some herbs. Suffice to say, it was very enjoyable and I wish I had more. I have no doubt that it will continue to improve for the at least the next five years.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark black ink in color. A full bodied red, with blackberry, blueberry, spiced flavors on long finish, was very good, short decant. www.winelx.com

Pop n pour. Too young. Excellent balance and body but could tell it was waiting to reveal the rest. Would decant at least 3-6 hours but likely will wait a couple mores years for the next bottle

Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry, black cherry, underbrush and dried herbs. Blackberry, black cherry, underbrush and spice on the palate. Long finish. Full bodied. Served with BLT sandwiches.

Decanted for 45 minutes. Spice, dark earth, and a little funk on the nose. Not as much on the palate, but nice layers of dark fruit which deepened after another hour. The extra time also helped the body fill in and lengthen the finish. Recommend at least a two hour decant to get the most from this nice syrah.

Dark ruby. Vert savory, with meaty, peppery notes but with loads of black fruit and some woodsy oak. Larger scaled but the tannin is smooth and the peppery finish goes on and on. Just a phenomenal cool-climate Syrah. This could go for years and years but I kind of like the primary fruit given all the savory aspects already here. One of the greatest central coast wines I've tasted. Awesome. 94-96.

Opened and let bottle sit for roughly 30 mins. This is a bigger style Syrah from the central coast. Very dark in the glass, with a distinct beautiful blueberry and plum aroma. Very well rounded on the palate with blueberry, plum, some pepper and spice as well. Great long fruit filled finish. A great wine at a really good price. Could be at it’s best in 2 years. Carlisle never disappoints.

Bold, full-bodied with gamy flavors, earth notes, forest floor, stone, dried raspberry, mocha, fresh herbs and plenty of pepper. Decanted several hours. Excellent now. Will smoothen out over time.

Packed with fruit (raspberries) and pepper. Almost punches you in the mouth, powerful. Drank well with a 2 hour decant but I would wait a year before popping another one.

Darkish garnet in the glass, this Rosella’s Syrah explodes on the nose with black AND white pepper (yes, both present themselves), beautiful cured meats, black fruit, mushrooms, earth, leather. The palate is medium bodied but full flavored, and just as explosive as the nose. Great balance of fruit and savory elements, with tannin and pepper all working together nicely. The finish is loooong on the this one. 30 seconds plus. Tremendous work on the Syrah from Carlisle. Glad there are two more in the cellar waiting. A decade or more to go here (easily) but so so good now.

Sumptuous fruit, of dried raspberries, burnt chocolate, stone, black pepper, potpourri and river bed. So much body, and typical of ‘18 Carlisle, this possesses pristine fruit. Long and the body remains light, and yet full. Polished tannins and a stunning structure. Drink 2023 - 2033.

11/20 RELEASE The nose is black tea and cracked pepper with a bit of soft plum and floral perfume. The palate entry is supple currant and plum, with black pepper, earth, and hard berries. Beautiful acidity. Drink 2021 - 2030.

Nice structure to it but tannins have softened up and the fruit has matured. Drinking quite nicely at this stage.
