I'm going to agree with Scamhi and Theamateurwinesnob on this - the oak is big, though not necessarily huge. That in itself is not a problem for me, but it oddly does show in a nail polish like way that is obtrusive and unpleasant. Lean and tight, with some nice minerality, it's rather angular and occasionally harsh, showing sharp citrus. Perhaps it needs time, but this bottle did not feel balanced at all.

Pale lemon yellow. Nose: anise seed, apple; quite forward. This is almost medium body with fresh acidity. Delicious flavours of apple, anise and brioche. Great Bourgogne Blanc!

This has improved and some of its early harder edges have mellowed. Impressive energy and concentration for a regional wine. Has benefitted from a few years in bottle.

A private lunch (Restaurant Bak, Amsterdam, NL): Classic style, fresh for the vintage, attractive hint of reduction, gentle bitters, citrus and subtle wood, clear and straight, energetic, good length. Well put together.

Bought at retail and PnP. Huge oak, toothpicks. Couldn't finish a glass. Horrible. My other experiences with Pierre Morey's Meursault bottlings do not have this oak treatment

Smelled of nail polish at first. I’m guessing this is what people refer to as a wine being reductive? I don’t know. After that blew off, I got great complexity from this bottle: hay, nuttiness, chalk, lemon, and pineapple. Good acidity, nice texture, and medium+ finish. Very good for its level. If the nail polish will blow off after some bottle age (again, I don’t know), then I would recommend holding for another year/two or a decant; otherwise, it’s a beautiful wine, especially for its level!
Not quite medium yellow. Bouquet of lemon, barrel ferment and reduction and dry straw. A bright mineral feeling acidity, with more barrel and baked pear. Good length and overall, a really impressive wine for the appellation and price.

I continue to find this slightly unbalanced on the palate with a slightly sour, bitter finish that is not for everyone. That said, nose is lovely and class, and the mid palate has nice density and drive for it’s level. Perhaps it will even out more with some bottle age, but I’m skeptical.

Drank over several days and was much better on day 3+. This wine really needs time (would recommend dinking this 2023/2024+ or making sure to give it some air now). Pale, golden straw hue. Nose of ripe white orchard fruit, citrus (lemon) oil, and white flowers. Also nutmeg…certainly on day 2/3. On the palate, very vibrant flavors of citrus, green apple, and, especially on the quite dry and powerful finish, Seville orange. On day 1 I almost found this too intense and bitter on the finish, but on day 3+ it has really become delicious and more harmonious. I find a slight honey note to balance the intense citrus (rind) flavors. Impressive body and density of flavor for a Bourgogne, with good mineral lift and acidity. Texture rather silky. And a quite long finish. Overall impressive and punching well above it’s weight (i.e. village level easily), but like I said, will be best in a few years I think as it’s quite intense on the palate right now.

Not rated. May have had some bottle variation here. Nose was okay, but the palate was quite closed and almost bitter (like the rind of a grapefruit) with some green notes as well. Possibly early, but was odd. I have a few more bottles that I hope show better.
excellent village white burg - clean, crisp and delivers a great village experience. I wish these burgs weren't so expensive now - this is a fine village wine, good early drinking experience, but nothing profound. Great with Marcella Hazan's chicken, asparagus and aioli

This continues to improve and is in a great place right now. Has balanced out as it’s gained some bottle age.
