Not a virgin anymore - My first dinner at Bern's (Bern's Steakhouse, Tampa, FL): Dinner at Berns. Nice nutty nose with yeasty elements and lemon oil hints. Rich butternut flavors with lean crisp mouth feel. Great balance and persistance. Fully mature with very slight sherry component adding to complexity. A fine way to start the night.

Dinner at Bern's. Well, this goes to show you that there is lots of bottle variation in all wines. Very disappointing considering what we've had of this wine in the past. Pretty much lost all of it's juice now, literally and figuratively.

First night in Mecca (Berns): Deep golden yellow with some bubbles remaining. Classic aged toasty flavors with decent effervesnce remaining, along with good acidity. Lovely for what it is, though it would have been interesting to have tried one of the previous bottles that may have showed better.

Dinner at Bern's with Bruce and Maynard. Okay, so this bottle just wasn't like the others. Not much fizz left and beginning to turn taste wise. A shame as the other 2 were spectacular.

Dinner at Bern's. Had this again for the 2nd night in a row. Had not the 64 Roederer been poured next to it this might have merited an almost perfect score. Incredibly young wine. Tons of fizz, almost tough to drink when first poured. Eventually opens up to a fantastic finish. Excellent.
