This wine has developed wonderfully. Color is a deep golden amber. On the nose there still hints of primary orchard fruit (pear/peach/nectarine) and a hint of lemon but the tertiary aromas of beeswax, lanolin and some pine/forest come through. On the palate the sugar and acidity are nicely balanced, with the expected sweetness of a spatlese coming through. The tertiary components are present, but the primary fruit is still there, lurking in the background. I'd anticipate it lasting another 5-10 years but if you like some residual primary characteristics on your aged riesling then it's time to enjoy now. I didn't know what to expect when I opened it, and was very pleasantly surprised.

Seems like a young wine. nice and sweet with a little acid on the back end. Flavor of nectarine, apple, and honeysuckle. I wish I would have bought more.

I think that peternelson's note from two years ago is still perfectly applicable. In my mind, this is a textbook example of Spatlese-level sweetness and acidity and at ten years old, it still feels very young and fresh and will probably need several more years to start showing some aged character. I can't resist calling it beautiful now, though. 5+11+18+8=92

This was a really good wine when I had it a couple years ago but suffered as it was drank after a 2007 Donnhoff. Good balance and freshness but lacked acidity when compared to the Donnhoff.

Earthy peach, lemon, and tropical notes; lemon-honey and white pepper; very viscous, medium plus sweet, medium acidity; round and soft; tangy, slate infused finish. 91+

Absolutely beautiful. Ripe peach, lemon, honey with a touch of petrol on the nose. Medium sweet, peach, lemon merengue, and honey on the palate, high acidity low alcohol and a long length. I am very impressed with this wine.

Doesn't really come across all that sweet, very fresh, but could use more definition, I think, especially towards the finish.

Good acidity. Sweet and light. The kind of sweet Riesling that can work great with food without overpowering it.

This is in a really nice place right now, not a lot of complexity but intense and long. Very Good.
