  • Powerhouse bottle. All strawberry, dark cherry, menthol and burning rubber. The flavors circled and morphed as we worked through the bottle. Served with braised pork perfumed with fennel and anise, the wine was a perfect partner.

  • Il Favot is a charming and rare nebbiolo in that it should be able to please the crowds. Aldo producers this wine from Barolo territory (within Bussia) but from replanted wines that are 15 years old or less. He chooses to limit skin contact to 8 days, so Il Favot has the aromatics and flvour of great barolo but with less tannin and acidity

    The downside is that it shortens the lenght of the palate. However, the nose delivers lovely aromatics of roses, blackberry, plum, cherry and leather, palate is rounder, fleshier and more full bodied than almost any Langhe neb (the price is also fleshier though!) but way more approachable and with less tannin than trad barolos. Dont get me wrong, there is structure here but finely finely grained tannins deliver and wraps the palate without leaving you dried out. instead it is sappy and juicy and delivers a full mouthfeel that just leaves the palate a tad sooner than i would have liked. Nonetheless , great value for this producer and an easy quaffer with pasta. Paired with Tagliatelle al tartufo bianco.

  • Excellent. Has gained weight since the last bottle. Coffee, cherry/ raspberry and tar give the boundaries of this wine but the acidity, tension and finish is where they shine. This baby Barolo is better than many barolos from the vintage.

    Rich and earthy, weighty without being heavy. Cherry and wet gravel finish.

  • Middels dyp rød, klar, med svakt lilla kant. Beskjeden retter åpning, et par timer på karaffel gjør den godt. Nydelig duft av kirsebær, jordbær, røde roser og et snev av vanilje. Saftig, fruktig og åpen, ganske ‘snill’ med polert tanninstruktur og uten røffe kanter. Delikat, nesten burgundersk struktur, med ren rød frukt, ren munnrensende syre og lang ettersmak med et herlig, lett syrlig bærpreg i avslutningen.
    Ingen billig Langhe nebbiolo dette, men det er godt, da! Og en pen match til toast med kantareller, løk og bacon

  • 따르자마자 느껴지는 꽃향기, 신선한 과실미, 허브 뉘앙스까지 어우러진다.
    팔렛은 굉장히 부드럽고 달콤한 느낌이지만 바디감은 살아있는.
    확실히 랑게 네비올로 급은 아닌. (물론 가격도)
    너무 맛있다!

  • Still to young, but couldn't help my self. Powerful, cherries, ripe strawberries, menthol, rosemary. Tannins. So much wine, oozing of potential and craving some reindeer or mushroom risotto.

  • 2017 in the Piedmont continues to impress me. This is forward and balanced. Raspberry fruits are strung in tension with some drier notes of aromatic gravel, more menthol than tar. Stunning.

  • Forward-facing, but also surprisingly delicate aromas with good clear roses, cherries, raspberries, hints of graphite, light earth cellar and leather. Medium-bodied, juicy and delicate fruit of clear cherries, fresh raspberry edge, road dust / graphite, herb and other spices on a fresh and quite too long finish. Great acid here actually! Impressive craftsmanship in the warmer 2017 vintage.

  • 2017, Poderi Aldo Conterno, Favot, Barolo, Piemont (100% Nebbiolo, der Wein könnte auch als Barolo verkauft werden, denn er stammt aus den selben Lagen, allerdings von jüngeren Rebstöcken). Helles Rubin. Offene Nase, Kirschen und Blaubeeren, getrocknete Kräuter, Minze, mit mehr Luft auch Erdbeerkonfitüre und frisches Magenbrot, sehr sortentypisch. Im Auftakt zugänglich und mit schöner, reifer Frucht, rote Beeren, reife rote Kirschen, das feinmaschige Tannin ist noch deutlich spürbar, eine gute Säure stützt, knochentrocken, mit Zug und mittlerer Länge im Abgang. Ein sehr stimmiger Nebbiolo, der eigentlich auch Barolo sein könnte und sich vor manch einem «echten Barolo» nicht verstecken muss. 2021-2030+, 18 vvPunkte (90/100). vvWine.ch
