Powerful tempranillo. Blackberry and plum on the nose. Hint of cigarbox as well. Well balanced with very little tannin left. Peak towards end of drinking window.

Nez : caoutchouc...petrol...notes florales ?

Been over a year since last bottle and starting to taste the age on this 2015 offering. Tasty dark fruit, full mouthfeel, moderate tannin and fairly long finish. Will continue to enjoy these over the next few years. 3.75 stars.

Sight Deep garnet Incredible legs; they form long lasting structures
Nose Black cherry Smoke Fig Olive Dill
Palette Sweetness ⅕ Acidity ⅗ Tannins ⅗ Alcohol ⅗ Body ⅗ For such a dark wine, I’m surprised that the body isn’t stronger. I am enjoying this wine at 62 degrees, however, so maybe that has to do with it. It’s so smooth, like I could drink the whole bottle and it feel refreshing. Smoothest wine I’ve ever had. There’s so many flavors to unpack, it’s hard to pinpoint a fore flavor. An after flavor I can note is that of grape and apple rind. On the breath there’s a smoky tinge. The finish lasts around 5 seconds and leaves a smoky and tart aftertaste, on account of the tannins.
This is the best sipping wine I’ve ever had. 5/5
Edit: as it warms, more flavors become known, and the body thickens. This wine deserves to be at a colder temp and drunk as it warms. It’s like drinking a new, yet similar wine every sip. I get lighter red fruits: blackberry, raspberry, etc. More tannins, spicier body, more acidity…

Some bottle variation here - this was better than the last. Plummy, smoky, tobacco and red pepper flakes on the nose. No astringency here, this is smooth and dusty with crisp acidity and tangy currant fruit. Smoky, tobacco, anise, earth, charred herbs, pine forest campfire elements. Pretty fun stuff that holds up nicely over a few days and gets more expressive.

Deep and spicy nose with tart currants, earth and tobacco. Medium/full-bodied, a bit of astringency to the tannins, vibrant acid. Tart blackberry fruit mixed with earth, graphite and menthol. Decent, opens up well.

Darker, more deeper black fruit character to this than the Crianza. Blackberry and bark. And more rounded on the palate. Less of the tug to it. In a way, I like the Crianza better. Maybe this is just a little bit tight right now.

Medium ruby in color. Blackberry, black cherry, cedar, smoke, and vanilla on the nose. Blackberry and tart cranberry on the palate. Well integrated tannins and moderate acidity. A bitter-sourness like eating raw cranberries coexists with vanilla on a medium-short finish.

A ripe plummy nose. Also some tobacco, leather and earthy notes.
Powerful and dry on the palate. Mature but still with some youthful tension. A compact and spicy finish.
This is in a good place but is not getting better. Drink up soon.

In perfect drinking window, but needs to breathe a bit for best results
Always a great Tempranillo, but not one to be consumed young.

Ok rioja. Good concentration of fruit, lots of oak body. Missing complexity of flavors the 2012 vintage has. Wouldn’t buy again.

Riserva presents dry oak on the nose first, touch of vanilla, balanced with bright berry. Notably dry tannins. Medium body.
