Decanted 30 minutes, drank half the bottle over 2 hours. This barely hit 90 for me, you could argue 89. The wine has good body, it just lacks complexity or interest, rather nondescript.

I don't drink wine a lot, maybe one bottle every week or two with my wife. For my little knowledge, and sorry if I don't have a beautiful and complex description like others members have but damm, that wine was good. I bought it 4 or 5 years ago and put it to sleep with other bottles. I don't know if the sleep help or change a lot the structure but I do not have any bad things to say about it. It worth the price I paid and I will buy another bottle for sure. Worth the try!

Nose - Dark berries in swirling smokiness. Palate - Smooth, silky, and dense, and full-bodied, with a hint of spiciness on the back of the tongue Superlative with Tamalies, rice , and a lovely cole slaw.

This was an awesome bottle. Decanted about 1.5 hours prior to dinner and it was showing exceptionally well. Plus red plum, black fruit, oak spice and softened tannins.

Aromas of chocolate and dark cherry. On the palate, fruit forward, dusty tannins, and peppery finish. Medium body, freshness, and balanced acidity. Thinking this will benefit from more cellar time, as the tannins need more time to integrate. It paired well with beef tenderloin glazed with denissimo balsamic.
Still very primary but shows lovely balance and elegance. Relatively weightless on the palate in light of the fruit concentration. This should evolve favorably and be at its peak in about 5 years.

Consistent with past notes but improved. Overall more polished and balanced, with loads of cherry chocolate cake, espresso bean, and mint chocolate chip. Definitely hedonistic style and paired nicely with balsamic pork shops. Drink 2023-2028. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

An impressive and spectacular wine. Clear, deep ruby color. Aromatic and flavor profile reveals sweet raspberry, juicy cherry, ripe plum, dark chocolate, cigar box, and black loamy earth. Silky and plush mouthfeel. In the development phase, but approachable and ready for business. Decanted and enjoyed with a baked, queso topped, thick cut pork chop, riced cauliflower and sautéed Brussels sprouts. Structure is still in flux, but there’s enough there to balance the fruits and emerging complexity. Long finish. Can drink now with a decant, or can be cellared and enjoyed through 2034.

PnP, but follow for over 2 hours. It is still primary fruits at this point. Wine is clearly well made, good tannin and acidity, decent finish, but lacks finesse and distinct. Had the 2019 earlier in the day and it was much more interesting.

Opened but did not need to decant, was ready in 5-10 min. Paired with seared pork loin off the grill. Rich, raspberry-chocolate cake nose with some blueberry cobbler, creme de cassis, and deep blackcurrant. The palate is full, round, textured, and rich, bringing more milk chocolate, plums, cherries, raspberries, coffee, orange peel, and some subtle but lingering herb notes into an extended 30-sec+ finish. Overall super polished and rich, but in good balance with firm acidity and refined tannins on the finish. Not at all our preferred style but we enjoyed this wine. Drink 2022-2028. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 91.

Smokey and also dark berries on the nose. The same follows through on the palate with a full mouthfeel, delicious and long finish. 2 nights ago we had this with pasta, asparagus and pesto with the side salad and it was equally delicious. One of our favorite wines.

Very definitely modern (unfortunate compared to older 3 palms), but avoids the traps of overripe mess or too much oak to produce a very nice wine.
Dark garnet colored, on the nose a nice mix of red and blue fruits, lots of black cherry, orange oil, touch of plumb and hint of smoke. Palate shows stronger plum flavors, a good black currant backbone, some dark red fruits, and a bit of tobacco note. There is some softness to the palate, with moderate and silky tannins, and yet there is a nice degree of acidity keeping this from being too flabby.
Overall a very nice wine, although a bit fruit Bonny it avoids being too overdone and is still quite pleasant to drink.

On the nose, smoke, forest loam and dark fruit. On the palate, the same. This is a lovely, full bodied wine, full of the juice of black fruit and a slight jamminess with complete smoothness and silkeness that was perfect with Spaghetti , marinara and toasted garlic bread. 11-25-21. Perfect also with butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with sage, and naan bread.
Opened and let breathe for 2 hours; however, decanting probably would have been better. The wine opened up nicely and in my opinion, is the gold standard for merlot. Enjoyed by all.

Double decanted but for a very short amount of time as this was a last-minute addition to our menu. Nose of blueberries, which gives way to good acidity and more plums and dark cherries on the palate. The intense finish shows some oak and black olives on the lingering end. Excellent, with the potential to become much better in the next 3-4 years.

Tasted side-by-side with Pahlmeyer Merlot 2015. Showed great structure for a merlot with solid acidity and tannic backbone and some minerality on the finish. The fruit profile was not quite as luscious as the Pahlmeyer.

This is exceptional - I would buy many cases if I could. Poured through the Vinturi and decanted another 90 minutes.
Smooth, great balance of everything, beautiful dark fruit and minerality. I would score it higher on potential but it lacked some of the complexity and wow factor that I’m sure it will develop over the next 2-4 years with a little maturing.
Buy this if you can.

This is so smooth and balanced with the slighest but perfect tannic grip at the end. It is simply delicious by itself. Great dark fruits with a fruit profile that is extremely pleasing to the palate and a wonderful chocolate component complimenting the overall taste. Rockstar wine. This is a case worthy wine imho.

What a nice bottle. We had only decanted for one hour, and the wine was already open enough to enjoy. Then, it got better and better in the following two hours. Since I just tasted Pahlymeyer merlot 13’ a few weeks ago, this one was totally shadowed the pahlmeyer Merlot even the great 09’. The whole wine was very clear and expressive but still full of layers. We side by side tasted with Chateau Boswell To Kalon 2010. This was more expressive but shorter lasting. Anyways, this no doubt was a great wine.

A standout in a difficult vintage and an all around exceptional example of Merlot’s capabilities. Rhubarb, plum and cocoa notes are accented with graphite and mineral hints on a plush frame.
The concentrated fruit offers immediate appeal while the complex layers and medium tannins bode well for 7-10 years of further enjoyment. Delicious.

Tasted at Duckhorn Vineyards. Deep dark ruby red color. Very expressive nose consisting of blackberries, chocolate, licorice, mint and toast. Very smooth and complex flavors of mocha, blackberries, toast, cedar and mint.

Bold and complex. Decanted 3+ hours before drinking. 6 hours in total. A knockout. Dark and brooding cherry, cedar, vanilla, currant and subtle smoke and licorice flavors round out a mineral foundation. A creamy texture softens the tannins, which are tame. Phenomenal wine, yet again. Can’t wait to see what a few years in the cellar will do.
