This wine opened very well with lovely fresh white peach, pale cherry and lemon lime notes on the nose. The palate is quite rich with the fruit spectrum reflecting the nose followed by lovely floral and cinnamon touches and a zesty mineral finish. Only a little compression at the end of the palate reveals this as the entry level wine but there's plenty of purity and grip here.

entry level Egon Muller, and my first time with this producer nose - pear, hints of petrol mouth- has a spiced character that is reminiscent of apples fermenting in-situ. a riesling with more power but less length than i'm used to. i'm getting flashbacks of drinking deep dark colored murky apple cider - undeniably delicious and easy to scarf down. 10.5% ABV.

Always w great pleasure to meet Uncle Egon, here w the deeply reverberating Scharzhof (v19), sourced f several plots around Scharzhofberg - a benchmark f Mosel Riesling. Straw-yellow hue, fine green reflections in the glass. The wine opens to whiffs of lemon & lemon zest, pears, peach, mixed bag of yellow & green apples that accent honey & fine tropical notes. Striking freshness, tension & mineral intensity, pure & concentrated fruit-drive w added grapefruit flavours framed in a quivering backbone acidic structure!

Unexpected light sweet palate. Mild acidity. Balanced and moderate concentration with limited texture show-off. Generally very enjoyable with Asian foods.

This is an exceptional bottle of Riesling for its classification with a clear yellow diamond colour and a pungent nose of white peach, cherry, grapefruit zest, thyme and mint. The palate reflects the aromatics of the nose with a medium body and lovely fruit characters immediately balanced by a painfully intense grip of matiere, grape acids and a savoury lick of autumn herbs and mint. At the end is a deceptively light finish that persists nicely. A stunning entry wine to this makers 2019s.

Nose with lemons, white flowers and slate. Faint hint of diesel. Palate with tropical fruits, lemon, lime and apples. Some honey notes and a fine wave of acidity on the finish. Medium length, good balance and very pure. A very good/excellent everyday drinking Riesling.

I was expecting a dry wine. This was shockingly sweet. Not that this means it's bad - I just didn't expect this/

Lemon tart flavours framed with icing. Went well with a spicy sambal stingray meal.

A brilliant version of this. Exotic fruits upfront but classic Kabi sweetness. Zesty and energetic. Really good.
