A nose of peppery, black plummy fruits. Big and smooth, but light on its feet. Surprising balance. The tannins are firm, but soft. A dash of acidity keeps the fruit from being jammy. The fruit is dark and brooding with a pleasant vein of black pepper running through. A long, long spicy finish. Was pleasantly surprised at how drinkable and enjoyable this wine was.

last bottle. Brought to a party where most of the wines were your yellow tail variety. I rarely drink that sort of wine, so this shined so nicely and vibrantly against those. This is a solid qpr, and the last 3 vintages I've had have all been good. (05-03)

Pop and pour. Color is a dark purpl. The taste at first is muted and flat. Then it becomes very fruity, in a good way and has minerals and spice with some pepper on the finish. Mid palate a bit flat and velvety. Still decent, but not as good as 04.q

Nice deep dark color. On the nose, lots of oak and spice, creaminess, some blackberry and raspberry as well. On the pallette, little bit of fruit up front, but the oak comes through BIG time mid palette. Get a little black pepper action, finishes VERY hot, almost stings the toungue. Definitely let this thing sit for a while, it needs to mellow out.

A successful in-law wine. Plenty of sweet ripe fruit enjoyed by all, but enough structure and balance to satisfy me. Went well with filet mignon in mushroom and merlot sauce. Drink now or within 2-3 years.

not as rich and plummy as the 2004 and this wine could use a little time, but that said, it was a well rounded shiraz, with hints of spice giving it a bit more of a european feel. will try again in 6 months.

Rather harsh; not a good finish; had much better from this winery. Re-corked and will use for cooking.

had this one for over a year and was pleased, but maybe it could have been more later.
