Black currant, cranberry, tobacco in the nose. Tart dark fruits in flavor, smooth mouthfeel. Sharp, lingering tannins that balance fatty foods. Goes very well with ribeye steak, Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes

We probably gave this only an hour to breathe and drank it over another 90 minutes. It continued to improve until the end, including the last sip which was the best. It would have benefitted from at least two hours decanting and then you'll get it's full potential. By the end we'd tasted some black pepper and milk chocolate cocoa. I picked up herbal/medicinal notes. Good tannin. I'm glad we drank it now, even though another year would be fine too.

On tour with Tim and Phil day one (Canberra Districts and Beechworth): Double decanted. Medium minus intensity aromas of black hued fruits; blackcurrant; black berry; plum, very slightly reductive, a little sweet spice. Juicy, savoury dark fruit then plenty of firm grippy and grapey drying tannins, dark fruits translate to the palate but it's all oddly lightweight surprisingly. Hmm.

Poor quality price ratio. A good wine, but not for this price. Nice tanines. Is very good with food. It needs food. Taste is a bit watery. Not much layers

Finely crafted balanced and expressive Tannat from single vineyard, aged for 18 month in used FR oak. Deep opaque ruby colour. Medium intensity elegant aroma of cassis, cherries, leather, tobacco, violets, hint of vanilla. Medium body, opens with fresh and delicately spiced black fruits, showing great depth of flavour, supported by well balanced and integrated acidity and finely grained rich and refined tannins.

Delicate balance of spices and dark fruits. Scent of nutmeg, oak, and cassis. Taste of blackberries, plum, and baked spices. Just the right amount of tannins to remind one that the wine can still be aged.

Very high tannins. Paired well with smoked brisket but even after breathing and aeration too tannic for sipping before dinner. Wait to serve until the meat is served.

BLACK in the glass. Impressive color. Nose of dusty plums, some mild spice. Wine was medium bodied, pretty smooth. You could do a lot worse for $25 on a Sunday night.

Drinking nicely now with flavors in balance. The medium tannic finish went well with grain bowls. This wine should continue to improve with more bottle time.

I agree with the companion tasting note on this really enjoyable wine. Different flavor profile more in the direction of Malbec. This wine is still young so I'd decant it. I think it will improve over the next couple of years, as it's kind of chunky now, but will round out.

coffee, baking spice, black currant, plum, tobacco, leather, peppercorn, and blueberry. Starts off heavy on the palate, the fruit is dark and slightly dense, but lifts a bit on the back palate. Lots of supplemental spice notes to compliment the dark berry flavors and earthy undertones give it unique character. Tannins are rather big, acidity is medium, the wine needs some time in the decanter to open up. Really a fun wine.

Very good once it opened up. But even after a few minutes, worked well with a steak. 2 days later last glasses with spaghetti were excellent.

This wine needs food to pair with it. No sipping this by itself. Toss this in the cellar and forget about it.

Dark red, almost black. Deep and complex. Tannins a little too high to sip without food but outstanding with prime rib.
