An absolutely stunning wine. Was a little concerned when the cork broke but this an amazing wine experience. Almost bricklike in colour, hints of medicinal, a bit musty like a barnyard but in a good way. Flavours of cedar, old tobacco, wet hay, leaves, stewed plums, and a lasting intensity that was unbelievable. Definitely in my top 5 of all time.

18c; no decant, bottle opened two hours; clear, coppered-red; bright nose of leather, mint, cherry tobacco; sharp attack, (fruit in hiding) with a long, mouth-sucking finish; prominent metals and schist, raspberries, mint, anise; likely too young, a ripping, classic wine; 18.5.

Definitely peaking IMHO. Gorgeous elegant red to dark fruits with a layer of leather and earth. Went well with smoked duck ravioli and antipasti.

A very solid classic Barolo - notes of raspberry, earth, surprisingly tannic but the tannins are fairly well rounded with a nice finish.

I thought the wine was slighty tanic for a 9 year old wine.
It opened up a litte through the night, Paid too much for this wine.
