Had first bottle in July of 2022 and said the other 3 need to sit at least 2 years. Spot on, this wine was very good and better on the second night. Have not been a big fan of this label, but this vintage is bringing me around. Still legs left on this so I’ll wait before we consume the next two.

First impression. Deep vanilla smooth with black licorice and cassis on the approach and initial tasting. Inky leather and oil slick of flavor on the palette. Alcohol is a too pronounced on the finish. Will update.

Inky purple color. The nose is redolent of sweet blackberries, wild blueberries, wild flowers and charred French oak. Full-bodied, this is rich, round and tannic! Delightful, the palate has more black and blue fruits, hints of flowers, spice box, oak and minerals. Just excellent, this seems less flamboyant than I remember and is either in an ever so slight dumb phase or just easing its way into maturity. Drink now-2030+ 94

The 2018 O'Shaughnessy Cab is a typical Napa Valley wine. It is bold and fruity. Hints of Currants and Cassis. Ready to drink right now, but could benefit from some ageing. Is it worth $73 a bottle? I'm not sure.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of lavender, white pepper, currants, plums and boysenberries. Flavors of boysenberries, raspberries, plums and cherries. Tangy acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

Decanted half the bottle and got right into it. The wine has a good grip on the stems and shows vibrant dark fruit, spicebox, and dark chocolate on the nose.
Out of the bottle this is a little lighter across the palate than I'd prefer, but there's a dry tannic backbone that indicates the potential to open and age with time.
An enjoyable and solid 91 w room to grow. As this was from a friend, no qpr perspective tonight.
So happy this was open for business. Blend of mountain and valley fruit but I dig the mountain profile. Lots of muscular dark plums, cherries, bramble berries, chewing tobacco, graphite and cedar. Juicy acidity, gentle grip on tannins, lovely finish. Cheers all!

Super tasty black raspberry, blackberry and boysenberry fruit. Hints of gravel. Plenty of oak. Medium acidity and tannins. Surprisingly, it seemed to fade after just a few hours in the decanter.

Beautiful nose of wild blue and blackberries, spring flowers and baked sticky buns. Very full-bodied, this is rich, ripe and layered. Boysenberry syrup, hot gravel, baking spices, vanilla and new oak. This is still a baby, but I believe the tannins have softened and rounded a bit since I last tasted. Can't get over the level of sweet fruit in this wine without being at all cloying or over the top. This is really excellent and a worthy addition to the cellar. Delicious now-2033+ 94

Continues to drink well. Rich black and blue fruits, flowers, minerals, bright acidity. Fruit forward, yet savory. May be the tastiest Napa bottling for O’shaughnessy yet. Great QPR, especially if you find it for less than seventy bucks
It’s a generous and even opulent wine with deep, rich flavors. A bit too much alcohol. I think it will calm down over the next day or two. Deep black fruit with a tinge of red. Cassis and black raspberry. Entertaining wine - at its price point it’s pretty good. Lost in a sea of outrageously priced Napa cabs that are nowhere near worth the money. But this is - sort of. We drank it with prime grade New York and it really shined. The second wine on the table was a 2016 Margaux that was entirely different but also nice.

A solid value Cabernet for the price. While it could still use another year or two in the bottle, it really opened up after 30 minutes of air. Rich and concentrated black fruit. A crowd pleaser!

Good bones and value…but a little too early yet - needs some air! This was a test bottle to see I wanted to add more and easy answer is yes! I’ll be adding more to the cellar. Probably won’t open another until ‘23 or ‘24.

Classic Napa fruit, more along the savory side with nice mineralty. Quality fruit, but not jammy. Alcoholic is in check, grippy tannins. Great QPR for $75 or less Drank before a Venge silencieux, which plays it slightly more jammy Hopefully a little time will bring forward better aromatics and spice

A super solid Napa cab at a fair QPR. In the same range are your Caterwaul Napa Valley, DiCostanzo Di Co, Venge Silencieux among others. I'd gladly take a bottle of any of them in this $50-$75 range. This gives a lot of upfront juicy (not jammy) enjoyment and will, at least for most, scratch that Napa Cab crack juice itch. 93+
Napa Fall 2021; 11/17/2021-11/21/2021 (Napa): Fruit forward, big time cherry, chalky tannins (which characterized all three O'Shaughnessy cabs), lush and accessible though. Integration and better drinking to come in a few years

Beautiful nose brimming with pure, sweet blackberry juice, creme de cassis, blueberry liquor and new French oak. Rich and full-bodied and really shows the tannin you'd expect from the portions that come from their mountain vineyards. I've never paid this much attention, preferring to purchase the Howell and Veeder mountain iterations, but I will be paying attention now! This is excellent now but should reach age ten in fantastic shape, in fact this wine might be better if the tannin softens a little bit. Drink now-2028+ 93-94

Deep red with slight haze. Aromatic with some age. Aromas of red candy, rosewood and cedar. Dry with a full body. Fresh acidity and medium tannins. Good balance. Moderate flavors of red vines, blackberry and cedar. Long finish.

Ripe, sweet, broad, relativly open, but with noticable tannin on the lengthy finish. Abv is big @ 14.8%. it delivered pretty much all I expected. Two days to finish.

Medium red color. Aromas of dark red fruit and the musty presence of tannins. Flavors follow aromas. This is a big wine that deserves years in the bottle. If you have the patience, I believe it will reward you down the line. If you are looking for a POP wine, this is not it.

Wanted to try a bottle that just arrived a few days ago knowing it was probably young. Upon opening, it was lush with dark fruit and a pleasant but short finish. With air, it transformed into a typical young 2018 Napa cab with the fruit receding, acid peaking through and became leaner. On day 2, the fruit and body blossomed yielding a very promising entry level O'Shaughnessy that shows potential for upside of another point or two.
