CARO, from CAtena and ROthschild, has a strong Argentine identity, characterized by the Malbec grape, which is given further elegance and complexity through blending with Cabernet Sauvignon. The combination produces a voluptuous, refined wine with a harmonious balance between the wine’s Argentinian identity and its Bordeaux style.

Popped and poured. Drink now, drink now. This was amazing!! Almost black in color with a nose of blackberries, tar, eucalyptus, tobacco and dark chocolate covered black cherries. Full in the mouth with great balance. All of the nose comes through on the palate with silk. The tannins are perfect with a medium long finish. 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is superb, one of those wines that after the first sip you know that you have a gem in your hand. Bravo Caro!

Tobacco and some other herbal note. Little fruit, but I don't remember much in the past. I got this wholesale, and think that was the last of it. Very enjoyable.

Taut, acidic, sanguine, and showing vegetal tobacco, bittersweet chocolate, cigar smoke, and more cigar smoke. It has a certain rustic charm to it. You can do better for $40, but I give this a few points for being something I'll remember.

Popped and poured. Medium-plus black cherry hue. Somewhat muted aromatics...with hints of earth, tar, black currant, and a hint of raisin. Medium-plus body. On the palate, the flavors are muddled...the fruit a bit over-ripe, with notes of raisin, black tea, and herbaceous flavors (tobacco leaf). Acidity is on the higher side, which keeps the ripeness in check but somehow this just misses the mark and seems a touch out of balance. Perhaps additional bottle age is required...however, it's hard to tell if this will ever go anywhere.

Dark ruby. Racy black fruit and cherry notes are laced with spicy oak and dark chocolate. Youthful, weighty but well balanced overall. Drink now or keep for another year at most.

Pours a dark red/purple. Many flavors, though I tasted primarily cherry and chocolate. Very smooth, coating mouth-feel. A very well-balanced wine with a firm structure and moderate tannins.

In Argentina always we are cheating because "Caro" means "expensive", and people use to say Caro is... caro. But I really don`t think so. This is a ruby red inky kind of, with violet notes. Sweet and green peppers, almonds plum and cassis. Have an excellent body, great balance and very good potential. On the mouth you get the same notes of the nose, but in a very elegant way. I think at this moment this wine has to stay in the top ten argentinean wines.

Initially very primary, closed nose but good structure. After two hours it began to open up; nice fruit, with a silky, full mouth-feel--good mid-palate. The tannins are clean yet present and the wine has decent acidity; good wine now should get better in a couple of years. Drink or short hold--90+.

Ruby escuro. Final longo.Excelente

Still going strong! Power and some tannins left. Was afraid that the peak was passed but easily 2-3 more years of potential.

Seemed like it had the base of a very good wine, but the complexity and depth of flavors were a little lackluster; did it need more air?
