Seems to be fading a bit. Light in structure, flavor profile took a good while to come around. Will drink another again soon to check in, particularly since I have overlap from previous BD purchase plus just added a few more.
Bipolar wine. Wonderful nose greets you, but on first sip after PnP, it's lumbering, oaky and a bit monolithic. I got Petit Syrah vibes. It continues like that for about 30mins, until suddenly it starts to evolve and becomes this sprightly thing, full of vigor! Ends on great note, so prob best to decant for a good hour before serving.

Deep indigo in color. Blackberry, bramble, cassis and spice on the palate. Full bodied with grippy tannins. Great with our dinner of pulled pork and ribs. Probably opened this a few years too early so will wait for the next bottle.

Dark garnet, nearly opaque, nose of dark crushed berry compote, with some lovely floral spice notes; rich and intense dark blackberry fruit, deeply flavored, with wonderful complex streaks of fall spices, white pepper, dried herbs, a touch of anise. Amazing flavor complexity from a wine with destemmed fruit and no new oak, really a distillation of syrah to its core. For me, this is year in and year out an archetypal California Syrah.

Interesting nose of dark berry and fungal aromas. Black cherry and stone fruit on the tongue. Then, and herbal sensation suggesting a basil/parsley combination. Cherry retronasal sensation under the rear palate. Somewhat more than "medium bodied." Quite noticeable tannin. Good now, but far from its potential.

Still very young, but drinks well and packs a well rounded, full mouthfeel, berry-licious punch if decanted.
