Wow....picked this one up for $74 a few years ago. Decanted 2 hours then enjoyed with a slow ox over 4 hours with the HMCs and dinner. Tremendous qpr here.....
Rich red/dark red fruit. Nose of classic cab. Palate of focused, clean Napa Cabernet. I will note that later in the evening this one turned a bit more acidic on the back end. Still, it was very nice to see this Napa '18 open and performing well since so many are still so closed up and limited. 94-95 til the very end where it got acidic and ended up at 91-92. One small glass left in the bottle under a Repour stopper. We'll see how it is tomorrow.
Addendum: last big glass in the bottle, left overnight under a Repour stopper. Carol enjoyed it this afternoon with dinner. It's soft and smooth, no longer acidic and biting as it was at the end of last night.
For those of you who have not utilized this product, it is great at removing oxygen from a young bottle that has been open too long and degraded. For $1-$2/stopper you can save the last glass or two of a $100-$200 bottle to enjoy the next few days. I am amazed at how this product works.......and I have zero financial interest in it. Just being honest here.

Blackberry pie nose, then dark fruit, bright acids, fine tannins and an everlasting finish. However, it lacks a complexity that could make it truly great.

Two hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Black cherry compote, blackberry, granite, and vanilla frosting on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with tongue coating acidity. Firm tannins on the medium long finish.
Three hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Pecan shortbread, black cherry, milk chocolate, and graphite on the syrupy nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with a caramel mocha note. Firm tannins on the longish finish.
This might be better with a one hour decant. It felt over-aerated. Nice, fruit forward Cabernet, but necessarily not built to age.

Typical Barnett acidity here. The huge acid leads the fruit at this point. Vibrant, juicy, and racey. Will probably calm down in a few years, but man this was fantastic over the course of two days.

Good wine. Huge fruit bomb. Needs to time to open up. Night 2 it was ready. On night one.....it was like a bottle shock. Everything was coming at me at once. On night 2, it was way more balanced.

PNP and enjoyed more than the 2014. Once again I am thinking these Barnett Cabernet's are best fresh and when consumed young.
Starts with cherry fruit, lavender, very floral, and a tobacco leaf essence. Mid palette sage, more red fruits and then finish lingers for 30 seconds with bigger, meatier body fresh fruits. Again, I am thinking that this wine is best consumed now

Three hour decant. Great nose with hint of stone fruit and herbs. Fruit-forward sweetish mid palate. Rather short finish.

This needs a few more years to soften the tannins and let the fruit and chocolate shine through. Still amazing now though !
