With ribeye with chimmichuri and grilled duck magret with Demi glacé, black truffle, and red wine (this one) reduction... this was perfect. Over the top with black cherry, blackberry, and saddle leather. Big, too big really and not exactly my style but impossible to deny the hedonistic pleasure of this one. Cheesecake, but who doesn't like cheesecake?

Pas aussi convainquant que le 2007. Nez sur la gomme balloune et les fruits noirs...ça part mal. En bouche, acidité basse mais beaux tannins et beaux fruits rouges. Texture satinée et assez long. Manque de complxité.

Purple core with a nearly clear rim. Tasted over two days.
Day 1- Oaky, spicy notes really dominate the nose. Some sweet, dark red fruit lingers around as well. Full bodied and intense with dark cherry and some fig layered across the palate. Mouth coating and opulent, this isn't one you might call shy. A nice drink, but the oak needs to settle down as the finish is a bit marred with dry woody tannins.
Day 2- The nose shows more brooding, darker aromatics. A bit of black pepper as well. The oaky flavors are a bit more integrated, but still quite present in the form of mocha dusted dark cherry and tobacco. The fruit turns darker as it moves to the back of the palate, and the finish lingers on and on. Some tannic grip persists here.
This is low in acidity and big on fruit and barrel. A delicious wine with a hearty stew. A bit "international" in style as I don't know that it stands out in any way from a modern Tempranillo or Merlot. Enjoyable though.

Very nice wine. Smooth well balanced acids. Had this wine with beef kabobs marinated with lime and vinegar. Wine has a nice concentration. The wine looks Ruby colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Fig, Raisin, and Molasses. It tastes like Fig, Raisin, Almond, Honey, and Molasses. The body is Medium/Full. The wine is textured Polished. The wine finishes Long.

poured at a BBQ at Tim and Nancy's. everyone thought it was tasty. I had a mouthful of dry rubbed ribs prior to tasting it so it came out a bit more complex than what you might get right out of the bottle. Good with meat! very good QPR.

This was a little disappointing for me. It had kind of a watery mouth feel. And it had a really wooden taste on the finish. There were occasional hints of sweet fruit and vanilla. I wasn't bad--just sort of like drinking a really nice hardwood floor.

125 CAD at Cafe Ferreira in Montreal. Very dark, concentrated, hints of coffee, chocolate on the nose. Full body yet fruity. Feels warm. Very long. Great red

Decent structure, classic Douro flavor profile, medium finish but overall came across as a bit primary and one-dimensional, even on day 2. Hopefully age will add some depth.

Ruby and still youthful. Nose of plums, damsons, flavours are similar with good structure and some tannic grip. Decent.

Très décevant, semble avoir fanné, réduit et cuit même. Pas défectueux a simplement mal vieilli, déception encore une fois!

Rich dark fruit sweetness(reminded me of Amorone..."raisiny"). Could cellar longer but don't push it. Decant.

decent douro - drinking nicely but nothing special on the nose. not sure why it was on the top 100.

Dark ruby red in colour. Nice and smooth. Was better with food than by itself. Over time did open up and became smoother.

Classic douro nose. Nice structure. I've drank 3 bottles over the last couple of years and it is aging well.

Well made, seamless, it went down well but lacked depth of flavor for me to rate it more highly.
