Pleasant enough but not a patch on the 2010. Very modern style. Good nose reasonable end but nothing in the middle. Certainly can do better even at this price level

At the Fairmont Hotel, Singapore. 500ml bottle. 13.5% ABV. Dark fruit, dark cherry, Jaffa orange/chocolate cake, cocoa, coconut, and spices, with medium-level acidity, ripe, well-integrated tannin, and good length. The medium-bodied wine was well-balanced, with average concentration, and drank well. Very good value.

The wine has the aroma and taste of ripe red fruits wrapped in medium-low spicy oak, with smooth medium tannin and acidity, along with a short finish.
Sadly, this fell short of what I would expect of a Reserva. I was hoping for more refinement and profile. The wine was lacking in flavours, persistence and elegance. But I suppose, given its relatively low price point, this was to be expected.

Spanish red wine from Rioja: Tempranillo, Graciano, Maturana. Aged in American oak casks for a minimum of 20 months. 13,5 % alcohol.
Slow-oxed for 5 hours before consumption.
Ruby red color.
Warm and round aromas of nutmeg, sour cherries, blueberries, blueberries and tobacco. Fresh and powerful flavors of plum, blueberries, sour cherries, dark chocolate, oak and nutmeg.
Dry. Full body. Medium+ acidity. Chewy tannins. Okay balance. Okay structure. Some complexity. Good intensity.
Short finish with sour cherries and oak.
A decent red wine that is enjoyable to drink. Although is a rather basic wine it has a surprisingly good balance, structure and intensity. I find it more enjoyable on its own than with food (Meat pie). It can probably last a few more years in the cellar but I can’t see it improving further with age. 86/100

Very typical Rioja. Sweet vanilla notes from a good bunch of oak. Mostly blackberries, plums, tobacco and some unripe, green notes. The balance is not quite there and the finish is a bit short and rustique.

In the bouquet dark berries. On the palate dark berries as well, chocolate, medium+ acidity, a bit smoky and rustic, a touch of sweetness and vanilla from the oak. Pleasant wine.

Deep ruby red colour. Nose shows oak character and notes of plums and dill. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with nice fruit, smooth tannins, nice acidity and notes of plums, cherries and a touch of dill, vanilla and chocolate.
Nice, typical and traditional style of Rioja.

This is entirely enjoyable. Fruit forward bouquet (granacha?), moderate tannins and good acidity. Easy drinking at a price point where many are not.
