Beautiful deep purple color, bright violet rim, rich back fruit notes blackberry, cassis, tobacco, hints of menthol full body, lots of tannins up front. Delicious!!!

This is very good. Unfortunately didnt take detailed notes. It did remind of a super tuscan with adequate spicy notes, but with the plush Washington State fruit. This is enjoyable now without having to fight through a wall of tannin and oak. One more bottle that we’ll allow to develop.

More aromatic and fruit-centric than the CS I had in the past, but still delicious and savory. The tannins seem a little softer and fine than the past, but this is good to go now. Delicious, and finds a great 2nd gear on day 2.

97% Cab Sauv, 3% Cab Franc. Black cherry, currants, and spice blend on nose with light cocoa and cola. Rich tannins, on palate are fruit, with flavors of berries, black fruit and cocoa.
Wonderful year for this wine. Black cherry, currants, and spice upfront with dark chocolate and cola behind. Rich, refined tannins, but not too hard on the palate and don't hide the berries, black plum and cocoa at the finish.
Blend: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc Aging: 100% new French oak for 22 months

Random wines tasted during service (Oinoscent): Cabernet Sauvingon with 3% Cabernet Franc The wine shows density, high intensity, spicy, clove, cinnamon, very thick dark fruit, licorice, black olives In the palate, the wine shows density, tight tannins, medium acidity, a touch of alcohol heat, chocolate and espresso notes, big in palate, full body. Needs time but with food and a couple of hours in the decanter, could work

Definitely typical Col Solare fruit. This is pretty big right now, needs a couple years at least to integrate fully or a long decant. Improved the longer it was open. Lots of dark fruit and a long finish. Easily see this at a 94 w some age .

91+. Popped this and ran it through a Vinoair gadget straight into the glass. Super young but tasting really delicious right now. I think even a year from now the wine will really start showing off. Gets tougher for me to hold out after I find out how good they taste. 2-edged sword. From Col Solare I’ve come to expect a wine with a generous nose along subtle and distinct layers of the fruit, earth and the winemakers influence. The 2018 is another great representation of Red Mtn. Cabernet (and 3% Cab Franc).

Tasted in flight tasting over at St Michelle Winery in Woodinville, WA.
Strong sweet cotton candy like aroma wafts from the glass even when the glass is nowhere near my nose.
Taste wise is fruit froward, mid sweetness with some blackberry, cassis, and plums. Really Jammy!
Apparently this marks the changing of guards and direction from the wine maker. Tasted the 2019, too, and it was even better!
Cheers to Damaris and Peter from California for the great conversation there!
94/100

Very “warm,” lovely notes of pepper layered in from the Cab Franc. Nicely put together, really look forward to aging this!
