Wine is drinking good, dark color, great balance with rich flavors, tannic but integrated into structure, drank with pizza with veggies and NJ sausage, stayed lively to the last glass, last bottle so on to new vintage.

Very balanced medium weight with a great nose and easy drinking. Very floral, cherry and red berry fruits with a complex and earthy finish. Great now, but fine for another year too

Currently drinking bright and a bit tart and really benifited by aeration. Very red berry forward and will soften and expand with 1-2 more years. If you must drink, open and recork until the next day and it will drink better.

Tablas Creek can always be relied on for good wines of all varieties. This 2018 Tannât was hard and brutal on the first night but after 24 hours it really opened up. I am sure in another day it will be even better but we loved it tonight. Smoky camphor and rich blackberry fruit with hints of licorice. I would love to drink this in five years as I am sure it will be much better. I am rarely disappointed by Tablas Creek and this is another great example. I am a European wine drinker but this is one of the California wines that I appreciate and I don’t think they get their due because they are big.

A beauty of a wine, and not one that you'd expect to shine in the US. Tablas Creek, however, has the magic that it takes to showcase a wine that's barely known in the US. In Madiran (southwest France) the ancestral home of Tannat, there is currently heavy investment by a score of Bordeau and Rhone players, including Rothschild family members, making a run at boosting the image and quality of the grape. Some were simply amazing on our viisit there a few years ago, and in my view, they would be hard pressed to equal the quallity, balance and flavors produced by Tablas in Paso Robles. Seriously, a great wine with many years to go. Terrific now and will get even better with time.

After 2 duds, it was time to open up something that we knew would be nice and pair with some baby back ribs.
Decanted 30-45 minutes before writing the TN. Medium to deep ruby in color. Simple nose of Umami, mushrooms, blackberries, and Worcestershire sauce. Light bodied, tannic, medium-high acid. Palate is lean and restrained with blackberries, plums, and black tea. Heavy tannins start off coating the mouth and fade away smoothly being well integrated with the finish. Long finish that starts off with black tea, then some herbs come though, followed by a spicy spices and an everlasting mineral finish that has just a hint of wild blackberry.
The 2017 was more complex and deeper. But this is still a great wine.

Great Super Bowl wine, medium body, 13.5%abv, medium red color, some acid, light tannins, interesting grape flavor, could have used a bit more brightness, a bit flat but still very enjoyable with nachos and wings, will drink again.

Dark color, subtle savory notes on the nose (the Tablas description refers to Worcestershire sauce), medium-full body, bright fruit/blueberry flavors with cedar notes and plum, light tobacco and leather. Solid tannins, accessible after a one-hour decant - enjoyed greatly with Friday night pizza.

Very tannic, interesting flavors, a bit spicy, opened up a bit as we drank, be patient, 13.5% abv but packed with flavor, intriguing wine, will drink again, drank with chicken cutlets, bok choy and pasta with marinara sauce.

The nose here is pretty fruit backwards. Notes of bitter herbs - think of Amaro or Underberg. Black cherries and dark plums, as well as black licorice on the palate. Full bodied with big tannins.

Med+ ruby. Red fruit on the nose with a bit of black pepper in the background. Generous on the palate with lots of firm tannins - but juicy. Delicious with the sun dried tomatoes on a home baked pizza! Less intense than anticipated- 13.5 abv.
