Bigger and riper than the 1er Vaulorent tasted alongside, but still very much Chablis with mineral drive to go with the stonefruit and ginger. "Value" wine of the night from Wine Emporium's white Burg masterclass.

Old Guys Lunch at Leo's Club. Lonnys btl flighted w/ David's '17 Louis Michel Chablis Vaudesir. What can I say, I'm Fevre fan! I love the lineup from AOC to Clos.

tasted at the domaine; baked orchard fuits; very warm, but with air a hint of salinity and stone; big and powerful on the palate, but seems a little disjointed at the moment; I suspect this will come into its own with bottle age, but needs 7 or so years to develop; again I preferred the '20

[Vinum Maisons & Domaines Henriot Tasting] Ripe citrus and lemon, strong note of minerality/limestone, saline. Very clean and pure with crisp fruit. Weightless with great acid balance. Can see added complexity with time, 94+ potential

This is what I want and expect when I open a young bottle of a top Fevre. Vibrant and spunky, with green and yellow citrus fruit, crunchy green and yellow apple, unripe pear, and wet travertine delivering the requisite pop of freshness and intensity, this Bougros also carries a viscosity and budding depth that persists with lovely flavor and weight. It's undoubtedly Chablis, with a crystalline and saline-based profile that promptly shoos away any butterball Tub 'O type salivating for a heaping mound of multiplex cinema popcorn in his Chard. If you know Fevre, then you know this semi-hyper approach to acid-to-flavor delivery.
There is too a lovely stickiness here that may appeal beyond just puritans who typically relish in having their enamel instantly stripped from their face. So, this iteration of Bougros has my attention for more than simply being racy; its dripping sap elements make for a mouthfeel that shows some nicely placed density as well. A wine that will hold beautifully for the next decade, but will also drink fantastic young. Sealed with DIAM, which is always awesome.
There's a fair bit going on here. Aromas of beeswax, struck flint and citrus. The palate is dense, powerful and sappy but also light on its feet. There's excellent fruit intensity and a finish of good cut and persistence.

Chicago Gourmet Grand Cru (Harris Theater - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Dense and concentrated, starts off ripe and rich, then brightens up towards its long finish. Good already now, better in a few more years.
