  • Nez enivrant de pinot, floral, La bouche est droite, minérale, encore beaucoup trop tannique à mon goût. Austère et profond mais pas très accessible encore. Revoir dans 10 ans. 91+ pts

  • Nice purfume of soil inflected blackberry with some lighter accents of pomegranate and bing cherry. Medium-full bodied on the robust palate with good tannins and acidity to keep things moving along.

This is a nice step up from the 2017 vintage of this wine.

  • The fruit is a mix of red and dark. Plenty of herbal notes and spice as well. Good body here and this is a fairly serious wine that will reward a few years of age. Very good.

  • From 750ml. 2019 Bruno Clair Savigny Les Beaune La Doninode 1er Cru. This Domaine has been my favourite producer in Burgundy based on QPR (even if pricing has crept up lately). Stylistically sexy and feminine, even for this appellation. This wine was consumed over the course of 3 days (leftover corked and fridged). Nose on day 1 was more red fruits (raspberry and light red cherries) which evolved into more of a darker fruit profile (darker cherries?) on days 2 and 3. Medium plus acidity with fine unresolved tannins. Wine seemed to have gained body from Day 1 to Day2/3. Nice long finish. Being able to watch a wine hold it’s own for 3 days is my benchmark for how well it can possibly age. I would wait another 5 years before the next bottle and could see this age gracefully for another 10 years easily.

  • One of the prime locations of the Clair family, first grapevines were planted here in 1902!
This is what you get in this bottle!
Enormous, unexpected deepness, dense body, a basket full of dark fruit, mineral core, herbs and floral tones though, that convincing finish,
    and......, way too young tonight,
give this one 5+, better a decade in your cellar,
    *(**-****), around 92(+) potential
