Light, very drinkable. More red cherry than black, more raspberry than black berry, but there’s plenty of all four, along with light oak. Light tannins and acids.

Expressive dark cherry fruit with complex notes of baking spice, lavender and sandalwood. Medium bodies, lively on the palate with a long finish. This is one of the best KB appellation Pinot Noir's in quite some time.

The wine is translucent ruby crystal in the glass with slow, thick tears that hint toward its 14.1% ABV. It shows aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, mint, nutmeg and slate as it warms and opens. It is lush and silky on the palette, and its flavors of red fruit and plum harmonize with the sweetness of the BBQ sauce while its mineral notes resonate with the tender smokiness of the meat.
This wine is a cello solo -- it reverberates with a depth of strong and rich but dulcet and smooth tones.

Complex nose of sasparilla, dark fruit, damp earth, and warm spices. On the attack, a lush and velvety tease of mulberry, strawberry, and a curiously quasi-malolactic hint. About 0.5 seconds later, the palate turned quickly to dark cherry, with a half-unzipped, sexily tight pencil skirt of dry tannins. The finish was surprisingly long and both earthy and plummy. Acidicty and ethanol were both unobtrusive, as they should be.
I will give my other bottles at least a year before tasting again. I think this wine has at least 2 years to improve and reconcile its flavors.

I guess if you like this style it might be pretty good, but for a Burgundy lover, it’s a let down. It might bet better with another few years in the cellar. Intense ruby hue, good nose of rose, red and black cherries (better on day two); medium body, very smooth tannins, slightly bitter finish. It’s not bad if this is what you like, but it ain’t Burgundy!

Tis is a nice appellation offering from Kosta Browne. It presents bright red fruit, red cherry core. Purplish red in color with a definite clear rim. Some underlying spice. Nice acidity that brightens this bottle. Not sure it immediately presented as a RRV Pinot as there usually a bit more in the bass line in my experience - some earthiness or savory notes, which did not present here. This is a well-crafted wine with positives across the board, although there is nothing that jumps out and grabs your attention. Not a criticism, just indicative of a very well made wine that offers a very consistent experience.

Good quality Pinot here, first time I am tasting this well known producer. The nose is probably 2/3 dark fruit and 1/3 red fruit in its profile, intermixed with well judged oak. Lush palate, good freshness. Will certainly please a broader audience, a touch to sweet for my palate but well done. I have to taste some of his single vineyard wines.

Holidays 2021; 11/30/2021-1/2/2022 (Dogwood Grove, Arlington, VA): Too young and too fast ... had friends over who wanted to try the famous KB and this is the bottle we pulled. But it was a PNP situation which didn't allow it to shine and we had a bigger group so the bottle emptied quickly and couldn't develop over the course of the night. But in general it was smooth and nicely made, but too early to give a broader assessment.

Colour: Dark cherry with a purple hew. Pretty transparent
Nose: Leather, forest dew, dark chocolate, dark mature cherry, smokey barbecue meat, cassis,. Very complex and deep. Not the bright red fruit profile I expected.
Palate: Pretty shut down and this is after a 2.5 hour decant. Nowhere near as open as the nose. Silky with a medium/light body. Tanninc structure but evident showing its young age. Sour cherry, red apple, slight vanilla. Medium + acidity. At the 3 hour mark the wine opened up more, introducing a higher sweetness. The apples have turned into baked apple pie and more of the barrel influence is evident. Baking spices and vanilla pod, as well cranberry sauce and sweet plums.
This wine has very high potential, today it came across slightly disjointed. I'm sure that time will do wonders for this wine. If you have some in your cellar, hold on to it for 3-5 years I believe you will be rewarded with something special. 92 points for today with solid potential.

Coravin pour. Cherry and raspberry on the nose. Tart cherry, hints of tobacco with vanilla on the finish.
Opened a week later and wine was showing a little sweeter cherry, strawberry on the nose with cranberry and some strawberry on the palate. A really good wine.

First time I've tried a Kosta pinot this young. It was fine but lacked the depth of flavors and mouthfeel I'm used to with KB pinots. I'm sure it will be better in a year or two. And I will stick to at least 1 year, if not ideally 2-3 years, from vintage before drinking

Bing cherry, raspberry, a slight hint of pomegranate and tobacco. The 2019 Russian River Pinot Noir is delicious and complex. Not overly sweet, but very deep on taste. I can’t believe I only bought 2 bottles of this!!!

Drinks and show very well for 2019 vintage and agree w prior reviewer the 2019 Russian blend stand up next to single vineyard and estate vineyard kB from 2018 and 2017. Enjoy!

Delicious! Great quality for the regular RRV bottling. This rivals the single vineyards in many vintages. Really juicy cherry and strawberry fruit balanced with earthy and black tea notes. This is not overtly sweet despite the intense fruit and shows nice complexity. Good underlying acidity. The tannins are superfine, giving it a caressing mouthfeel. This will age nicely for at least 5 years but it's nearly impossible to put down now.
