Fruity but dry cab that you can enjoy with or without food. I taste Concord grape - which to some people may sound like a negative, but I enjoy this wine very much.

Fairly consistent from vintage to vintage. Very ripe and juicy. Black currant, blackberry, black cherry and plum. Developing structure provides balance. Solid finish. Enjoyed with roasted pork, potatoes and squash. Never a barnburner but always excellent quality and a wine you’ll never be embarrassed to serve.

This seemed sweet, almost artificially so, like a cheaper cab. Not what I'm used to from Beringer KV. Maybe it will tone down with time, but this was disappointing.

Garnet, dry, acid is medium high, tannins are medium high, salinity is medium, minerality is medium, alcohol is medium high, finish is long.
On the nose, soft sweet ripe blackberries, ripe cherries, baking spices, nuanced vanilla and oak.
On the palate, balanced fruit, alcohol and tannins. If anything's too much it's the tannins, grippy and persistent. I imagine this wine will age nicely for several years and mellow out in a decanter. I get sweet ripe blackberries, ripe cherries, baking spices, vanilla, oak, tobacco, and some minerality coming across as river rock.
Subjective notes: amazing buy at 22$ a bottle Edit: this review differed from my first one a lot, could be inconsistency in the wine or my palate on a different day.

Nose is somewhat shy. Need at least an hour for the wine to open up. There are ripe blue and black fruits on the nose and palate. Good purity. Sweet spices. Medium bodied transition to a smooth and rich finish. Will continue to age for the next 3 years.

Attractively accessible from the start, allowing the Knights Valley fruit to shine. Black cherries, dark raspberries, and licorice, with a rising touch of eucalyptus. It displays a crafty structure and the flavors turn succulent with air. Such a consistent wine.

Unbalanced, slightly too sweet. Doesn't taste of 100% Cabernet although it's labeled as Cabernet. I'm getting some merlot and petit verdot. There's strong violet, blueberry undertones. There's a sweetness in this wine, it's not bone dry. Acid is medium plus, tannins are medium but balanced. Alcohol is high, labeled as 14.5 but feels like 15 for me. Salinity is low to medium. Minerality doesn't shine, maybe just hidden by the sweetness. Full bodied. The sweetness for me suggests there's some flaws in this wine. Ripe black plums, blueberry, dates, anise, black pepper, oak and vanilla.

While some people give this wine 85-88 pts, I think its an awesome wine in that price point. Certainly beats Daou or Caymus...offering more black fruit, complexity, body without the fruit bomb attach. Pairs well with food but drinks just as well on its own.

Great wine for $$$. Tasted blind vs Daou Paso and Siran bord. Beringer and Siran much bettr than Daou. Siran might be better in 2-4 years or a little better w/ food, but Beringer great now and prob 2024.
solid wine.. dark purple in the glass, nose has a mix of dark and red fruit. medium acidity and just barely medium plus on the tannins. smooth but some grippiness. drink now and for the next 5 years. I don't think it will improve after that. for US $30 its a good bottle of wine.

Tidying up the cellar last weekend and found three bottles in a mixed case with some Le vieux donjon 2007. Don’t know what I was thinking during the Covid lockdown with this storage strategy, anyway I opened one and it’s well made but a bit of an oak bomb. It was better with steak though.

It’s a decent Cab as usual. Not as good as some years. Cherry, plum, a little blackberry, juicy and sweet, but not too sweet. A little vanilla and some herbs. Could use a little more backbone. Better with food. For an under $30 CA Cab it works. I can see why there’s a wide range of scores on this. Even the pros differ widely. Suckling 94, WS 86.

This was an outstanding value, as we picked up a bottle for $17.99 at Costco. But even it had been $100 or a little more, we would have been very happy with it.
It was a little fruity (cherry) upon first sip after opening it an hour before, but then it quickly developed a much more complex character with good tannins and pepper. Very rich and flavorful -- PERFECT with grilled steak, but very good all by itself after dinner.

No contemporaneous notes. PnP, served at room temperature during a heat wave, and therefore judgment reserved. That said, the flavor profile was similar to the 2018. Perhaps my preferences have changed - but I did not care for the sweetness on the palate the wine showed. Very new world, and not in a good way. My friend (not a wine guy) followed this with a "Snoop Dog" wine, which was not as good but had a similar profile.

Bright purple color with slow legs. Oak, blackberry and cassis on the nose. Mixed jam, black cherry, lead pencil and pepper on the palate. Long leathery finish.

Clear, medium intensity, ruby in colour. The nose is clean, medium intensity with primary aromas of red currant, red cherry, red plum, mint and pepper. Secondary aromas of biscuit, cream, vanilla, coconut. No tertiary. The wine is developing. The palate is dry, high acidity, medium - tannins, high alcohol and medium + body. All flavours present and finish is medium. Quality is good but recommend aging. The acidity/tannin levels are out of balance and needs longer to develop.
