Notable for its bright cherry tanginess and acidity. Could almost stand in for a white at the table. Turned out to be a good solution at the restaurant where my wife enjoyed a seafood risotto and I had a steak. Tannins well integrated.

Aromas of cinnamon, spice, brown sugar, dark cherry, with a just stunning and lush mouth-feel full of beautiful red fruits, cinnamon, dried herbs, and a lingering finish. Glorious.

Had it again with grilled salmon but the acid seemed higher. Red cherries on the nose and palate and went well with the salmon, but not as enjoyable as in the past.

Bright red cherries on the nose, plus earth ... great fruit on the palate and acidity ... very balanced! It was wonderful with the grilled salmon! I thought very seriously of opening another bottle, but then the next morning would NOT have been wonderful. This is a great pinot that would please anyone. Esterlina is also is a great place to taste at ... high up in the Anderson Valley surrounded by the vineyard. You have your own half-hour appointment and it's wonderful. You, too, will be bringing back some of this pinot ... along with some other wonderful wine!!

Decanted two hours prior to tasting. An earthy nose, with cherries, strawberry and soft wafts of vanilla. The palate is expansive with rich fruits, mouth-filling but not big and over-wrought, lush strawberry, black and red cherry, and there are a little forest earth on the finish. I enjoyed tihis even more than when I tried it at the winery.

2007 Pinot Days – Best of Anderson Valley Seminar (Fort Mason, San Francisco): Light red color; barnyard, floral, sweet cherry and framboise on nose; lovely, sapy, tart and sweet cherry and red fruit with rosehips, most Burgundian so far; medium-plus finish ($40; suitcase clone and Pommard clone) (WOTF, and WOTS for me)

Nice color. Creamy nose, blueberries, cherries, and hints of earth and vanilla. On the palate, balanced with nice acidity. Lush mixed berries. Tightened up later in the bottle. Needs some time to come together, but should be great in another year.

From Winery: This wine is similar to our ’02 Estate Pinot Noir, with intense, concentrated flavors and ripe fruit, but with slightly better balance. We have no problems opining that our 2004 vintage of Pinot Noir from this vineyard is worth collecting. It starts with stellar red and black fruit aromas, in addition to sweet vanilla-oak and mushroom hints. The mouth has wonderful flavors of ripe and juicy dark cherry, spiced cranberry and a bit of mushroom, with the classic acidity always present our estate pinot. The finish is long and spicy. 2004 Estate Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley, Esterlina Estate)

Notable for flavors of tangy cherry/cranberry. Imagine it would go well with a traditional turkey dinner. Light, good acidity.

A big hit with lamb shank on Christmas eve. Cherry, strawberry and some raspberry. Clove and a little brown sugar. Very good. Should have bought more!
