Quick note: Nice golden colour, oxidized nose (not a fault here!), typically reminiscent of a Sauternes but without the sugar, still very fresh but without the green citrus notes found when very young. Full-flavoured, still lively but the youthful grip has loosened up. The élevage and the acidity are fully integrated. Not very complex but a joy to drink, like a slightly oxidized and dry Sauternes. Still has some years left; will not improve but will mellow out. Can still handle full-flavoured fare like fish couscous.

Gros Manseng & Petit Courbu. A most unusual wine. It seemed to change with each taste. At first it was citrus and acidic -- almost overwhelmingly. Then green herbs. Then a soft leather that seemed out of place for a white. Even chocolate towards the end. Odd, in a good way. Medium bodied. Dry. Surprising. Challenging to hold on to any one taste. Other tasters noted that it seemed the flavor elements were fighting for dominance rather than working together for harmony. While that was true, I found that interesting rather than unpleasant. Drank it with lobster and it was nice. 14% alco (D 6.5, F 6; SoPo; Martine's)

South West France Journey; 5/30/2010-6/19/2010 (South West France): It was too oxidised for my taste, however, some might like it. I used the remainder for the best ever home made veal stew. Cheers!

Tropical fruit, a bit too much acidity.
