One of many enjoyed at the JD Labor Day bash. This one was still going, although it was on its way out. This wine wasn't that complex for a pinot that was supposed to be on the heavier side, so I chalk that up to age. Uncorked intact, a very light cherry stain on the bottom of the cork (I think - this one was enjoyed with minimal light in the cellar). Either way there didn't seem to be much bleed. It was a light bodied wine, scent of candied cherries. On the palate was cherry, mint, alcohol. Some sediment. This one drank very old world style. The finish was deeper and darker, turning more towards a sour cherry (which I think wasn't supposed to happen, but was welcomed and even a bit anticipated). Alcoholic finish. If you have this wine, drink it now because it's not going to last much longer, and I think we might have gotten lucky.

Napa vs. Sonoma (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had red berries, cherry, spice, and vanilla. The palate was a bit tannic, and had cedar vanilla, and berries.

Alcohol: 13.5% Cork Type: 1 + 1 Nose/Bouquet: nice black cherry, spice and chocolate in the background Flavor/Palate: Smooth Strawberry with hints of red raspberry. A complex body that is very full Finish: Nice oaky and soft tannins that turn away into almost butterscotch Color: Dark Ruby Red Chill Factor: 60 F Decanter/Breathing time: 30 minutes, but can drink right away if you like Potential: Could Cellar until 2011, but can drink right away Food: Good before, during and after dinner. We drank it after a Gourmet Chicken Dinner Overall Opinion: This is an Excellent Pinot Noir. We would buy this vintage again. A nice easy wine workout for the palate.
