With Sunday night sushi. The bottle opens to a palate of peaches, green grass, river tocks, straw hints of pear and a touch of dried spice. A really nice SB.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (R&D’s): Double blind. Pale color opening with notes of citrus and wood spice with grassy overtones. Full-bodied and showing a good bit of barrel influence at this point. With air the fruit took on a diminished profile and the oak became the more dominant quality. While I initially thought sauv blanc, by the time it came to unveil I wasn’t so sure.

so different from NZ style - fruit but dry finish, long finish with mineral and some acidity, lovely mouthfeel, well integrated, complex. Will try again in 6 months.

This fresh and grassy Sauvignon Blanc blend is drinking beautifully right now, with impressive purity and lift. Light yellow, almost clear in color; medium in body; aromas of white flowers, ocean air, and lemon verbena. Flavors of gooseberry, key lime, and lemon rind, with a hint of praline (but only a hint - no malo here) on the way to a lively, layered, and integrated finish. Blend of 97% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Sémillon. 15.3% alcohol (though I never would have guessed it). Drink in next few years. This is a wine from PM that consistently overdelivers.

A rather tame Sauvignon Blanc. Barely able to find fruit beyond the stone mineral nose and initial mouth taste, some lemon rind and some green grass is present here. Clearly well produced but requires a lot more time to develop. Some bitterness in the finish. Not the best L'Apres Midi i have had. Could be the year perhaps but I am giving this benefit of the doubt since it is Peter Michael

So consistent year to year, it’s all been said before, slightly expensive for a Sauvignon blanc, and yet a case comes home every year and is almost always gone in half a year, always a pleaser for friends and family.

Initially, out of the fridge, the nose is quiet. After warming at room temperature for ~ 30 minutes, I finally get some Sauvignon Blanc varietal character. Not a criticism, but interesting. The nose is still somewhat shy, but I pick up citrus peel, rocks, and grass/herbs in the background. The lemon/citrus peel character shows through on the palate. Quite a bit of phenolic bitterness. The finish is long. I am on the PM list so had to try it, but it might be a touch overpriced. Also, who makes a Sauvignon Blanc at 15.3% ABV?

Apple, caramel complexity when opened up - this wine needs 45 minutes to open, but exquisite once it does

A nice SB with notes of citrus, minerals, herbs with nice finish. Paired well with grilled red snapper with a spicy ginger garlic dipping sauce.
