Buttery and oaky. Strong lemon taste. Very smooth and easy to drink. Hard to differentiate this against other linear chards, but overall a really good chardonnay

Tolpuddle Chardonnay 2021. Ikke hver dag man drikker vin fra Tasmania. Men dette drikker jeg gjerne hver dag! Stor intensitet på duft - voldsomt med fyrstikk, popcorn, smør og spice. Litt First Price Coche vibber her.
Very matchstick on the nose, it doesn’t slow down either with time, the palate is much better, fresh, mimeral, intense.

Intense lemon curd with pronounced high-quality French oak. But for the oak, this would be among the purest, most linear wines I’ve ever tasted. It reminds me of Rhys chardonnays. The thing with pure, linear wines is: what differentiates them? Not much. Perhaps this here is even more lemony than the Rhys chardonnays I’m remembering.
I think this wine in this style is a noble way to make chardonnay. I’m good with the heavy oak.
While this is perfectly drinkable now, I figure it could use some bottle age to help it chill out and add complexity. It tastes like a chardonnay that could drink well for 20 years. I don’t get the screw cap.
Buttered popcorn, lemon juice, white pepper, fresh green apple, fresh geen herbs on the nose. Flavors consistent with the aromas; but with varying levels of intensity. The buttered popcorn dominates the nose; but it's in the background on the palate, where the fruit and herbs take center stage. Great intensity of both flavors and aromas, they're just focused on different things.
Medium body with zippy medium + acid. Drinking very well at this young age. You could age it a couple years to see where it goes.

Reductive struck match nose is very very pronounced here. And while it blows off to a degree with plenty of swirling, this will need years - and indeed this is wine built to last. Screwcap of course. Unless you like that nose (I don't) hold or avoid.

Tolpuddle CH 21 - 99 p from Decanter Three. Well, it is a classy, well-crafted cool-climate wine, superb energy & tension. Straw-golden, bright & shiny in appearance. Nose straight from bottle all about oak (aged in French oak 9m), slowly opening up to timid gunpowder, lemon & lemon peel, tropical notes & hints of grapefruit. Palate is highly enjoyable, m-bodied w balanced acidic structure, great mouthfeel w precise butter, vanilla, citrus, peach & yellow apples, grapefruit bitterness, lengthy, chalky-dry finish!

Lovely oaky vanilla and hints of spice on the attack, closely followed by white peach. Medium weight and medium plus acidity. Lean and elegant. Long finish, straightforward. Drinking now, will get richer over the next few years and should last a long time given it's profile.

Would normally give Aussie Chardonnay a wide berth, but ordered a bottle off the wine list at Drunken Admiral, Hobart, this is quite a Puligny-like, lithe, airy wine with quite a strong toasted sesame nose and a citrusy, mineral palate. Would almost consider joining the mailing list!
Rich medium plus nose, bosch pear, cream cheese, lees notes evident, butterscotch, hint of mushroom. Palate combines mineral notes, almost steely, but then with rich fruit, lemon layers, acid is quite high for Chardonnay, a little tart that could use some age. Nice wine though, very well made.

Very strong lemon and mineral with high but enjoyable acidity. Smooth.
Get the struck match, oak is not overpowering.
Think needs more years to open up more.

Mineral fruited nose, with lemon, taut with a slight struck match, still a little reductive. Elegant filigreed. and beautiful

Very well made. Not sure the quality to price ratio is there. Too much oak for me. Would have thought it from California.

Pale straw in color. Dominant toasty oak, with lemon curd and moderate plus acidity. Really rich; a bit too much for my taste.
