Big fan of Ramey chardonnays like many other people. This one has nice gorgeous fruit. Sweet long finish. Just a delight on the palate. Alchohol of 14.5% was nicely integrated. I would love to hold on to these wines longer but they take up sooooo much space in my free standing cellar. I have a 2005 Ramey Hudson that just sings so one can wait a while before opening. I think this wine will continue to evolve over the next 5 years.

Brief note from memory. Tense lemon and green apple fruit with fairly high acidity and some saline minerality. Touch of green herb. Creamy texture. Years from peak drinking.

Light to medium gold in hue, this Hyde Vineyard chard offers aromas of lemon curd, orange blossom, pear and a whiff of sea spray. Pure and polished, there is both intensity and balance on the palate showcasing a supple mouthfeel and notes of apple puff pastry, clementine and oyster shell. Ridiculously good.

Small US new arrivals tasting hosted by a merchant. This spent 20 months in oak. Aromas of fresh apple, pear and citrus. Some herbal layers and more distinct salty minerality. This came across cooler, fresher and more mineral than the Ritchie. Again a creamy texture but this time with plenty of acidity underneath. Unfortunately a bit more rustic and plump than the nose made you think. But still preferred this to the Ritchie.

What a terrific wine! Pours to a light straw color and has an effusive bouquet. Notes of apples, lemon, blue cheese, white flower, and brioche. Crisp and flinty on the palate. No over top oak action. Not a jagged note. Restrain and finesse all over. One of the better white wines you will try. WA 97 pts, WS 95 pts recognize the beauty of this wine.

Loved this bottle. Oyster shell, sea spray, and tangerines on the nose. Palate is juicy with oranges and a saline minerality. Moves into a long, focused finish on gently tart lemons. This wine has the stuffing to age a bit but it was great to try it young. 94++

Leaner than I expected--plenty of acidity and I suspect it will improve with a few more years in bottle.

Kinda tight and lean with a ton of dry extract. Tons of structure, tons of tension but not heavy. Bill is loving it. Tons and tons of structure.

Again, much more linear, focused, and acid driven with less oak then I ever expected.

On day one way more linear and direct and tight and way less wood than I expected.
Day two is more fuller and rounder, richer and powerful. but still not as fuller bore and as massive as I would think.

Nice mix of citrus and tropical fruit with a creamy texture. Not too much butterscotch at all, and that faded a bit after being open for awhile.
Still young, this should be better in 3-5 years.

Bright citrus with medium plus acidity. Lacks the typical buttery oak flavors. Good but not my preferred style.
