gave the glass air for over an hour. wine softened up considerably showing rose and tar on the nose. beautiful cherry fruit with just a hint of bitter almond on the finish. a great langhe nebbiolo but not quite as wonderful as the 2021. great depth of fruit from not necessarily all younger vines. love the line-up of wines from cavallotto. this is top of class as far as langhe nebbiolo goes!

Blinded this could easily pass for Barolo. Clean and fresh with rose petals and cherry. Nice purity of fruit if not particularly complex or long. Solid and a good value. I would concur with others that the 2021 may be a touch better…

Good Langhe. More like a standard barolo. Could wait another 2-3 years. Balanced and fresh. Classic Nebbiolo , with some more uplifted energy. Not so complex but maybe with some extra years. Well done. 91-92 p

14.5% alcohol. Long cork of above average quality. Did not decant, which was a major mistake. Pale (but not faded) translucent ruby colour. The nose has a reductive eggy character which swamps the fine red berries; these take over with time in the glass, revealing much delicacy. The reduced character shows in the mouth too, where it actually persists longer than on the nose, spoiling the experience to a large extent. Good grip and acidity. Definitely a wine to decant.

Red cherry, dark plum, licorice. Mix of red and dark fruits so some dark cherry, black olive mixed in. Full bodied, high, ripe, velvety tannin, high acid, long finish. As always, this is an incredible Langhe Nebbiolo. I didn't taste them side by side but If I had, I think I'd prefer the 2021. Both fantastic and objectively little to split them but for me, the 2021 just has that slightly stronger sense of place which I think this wine is all about.

A very serious Langhe that would have no trouble garnering respect in a line up of entry level Baroli. The nose charms immediately upon opening - classic tar and roses, some red fruit that waft behind, along with a decent whiff of alcohol. It hits the palate with a bucket of structure, all mineral and tannin at first, but gives way to soft, enticing red fruits (fuji apple, cherry) that fan out into earth, Christmas spice, and black plums, with lots of savory nuance. Good depth and transparency of flavors, but probably needs a good 10 years to fully come around. 90(-93)

Love this wine. I was blinded this for the first time and this showed it’s structure still, but was a much fresher expression. The body showed a bit lighter and crisper fresher red fruit.
Still think drink or hold. Showed more like a Langhe Nebbiolo but in a good way.

14.5% alcohol. Very long dense cork. Decanted 45 mn ahead. Bright ruby translucent colour, but still denser than most of its competitors. Superb nose, predominantly red berries but veering towards darker fruit eventually; very complete as a result. The mouth is similarly impressive with remarkable smoothness; the acidity is kept in check without loss of vividness. Plenty going on, including some liquorice in the back palate. Good grip, and enough structure to last a good few years. At least two notches above any other LN that I ever had; mind you, this is reflected in the price (25€, so nearly twice the going rate for some reputable producers). In fact, this wine might be better than a good few Barolo (with the advantage of earlier drinkability), and in that sense the price is not extravagant. A bit of a revelation of the heights that LN can reach.

Scent and taste of tar/rubber and red fruit like sour cherries with some bitterness. Also hints of floral notes. Medium- body, medium+ acidity and high tannins. The wine in combination with home made pizza was a perfect match!

Tasted at the winery, from magnum. Mid red, translucent. Plum and oak on the nose along with bright cherry fruit. Silky palate, full of black cherry, plum, spice box, chocolate. Really ripe and firm tannins. Like a proper Barolo in style and I would drink it over many Barolos.

22 months aging Very floral on the nose. Long finish for a langhe and precise acidity on the edge of the gums. Normally, I will never say that langhe nebbiolo's are baby barolo's. There is usually a pretty clear distinction to me. This is an exception to that. This really is a wine with a well defined structure to be *just* a Langhe Nebbiolo.
