  • This is been open for about a day when I tasted it out of a Zalto burgundy glass. Dark fruit, deeply structured, supportive acids, and in this case quite a bit of stem inclusion it seems. some green notes pushing up through the sous bois. Best to hold for now.

  • There isn't supposed to be any of this wine around anymore but the day before Marcus found a case behind a stack so he opened it. I really enjoyed this as did Cathy since we both purchased a couple bottles. There's probably only a handful left.

Dark maroon color. Dark cherry and raspberry. This has depth concentration with the a light oak presents and tannins as a foundation. Very good.

  • This was much better than heritage No. 15 but there are still many wines in this price range that I would rather have. Nose was decently pretty but more sonoma in style than burgundian. Acid still needs to resolve on the palate. Goodfellow has been getting a lot of hype as of late but I've yet to see what it's all about - am I trying the wrong parcels?

  • Got some air (perhaps a quick double decant in the afternoon?) and was 110% shut down in the evening. Cool dark fruit and a bit of tannin. A very different wine than the one opened upon release. Would maybe try a PNP, but otherwise may want to wait 5+ years from here to see this wine relax a little.

  • Tasted at the winery. We veer into a very serious lane with this wine. Lots of structure and complexity is wound up in the wine. Raspberry and black cherry with some turned earth and wood mixed with skin tannins. Long finish, and needs a lot of time

  • This is fantastic and certainly scratches the red Burg itch. Lovely notes of cherries, blood orange, raspberries, spices, and bright florals. Sensual, detailed, and delicate on the palate with a long and graceful finish. Well made and absolutely delicious.

  • From a Conterno Sensory. Very light and elegant, and wound tight. Nose of wild strawberry and rhubarb. Some of the classic sandalwood, and a savory green/stem nuance as well and maybe a kiss of sweet vanilla/oak. Palate was very transparent and pure - light red fruits and savory elements. Will see how this develops.

Day 2: This is opening up slowly - getting deeper and darker, more savory, not a lot more complex than day 1 at this point. Great balance and purity. This shows excellent reserves when trilled. There is a elegance and some hints of gentle sweetness that are just wonderful. Nose - 4.5+/6, Palate - 5.5+/6, Finish - 5+/6, Je ne sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5+/20 (with 16.5-17.5/20 potential.)

Day 6: This is very quiet now - very savory and green/stemmy with some cranberry, wild strawberry and spice. Tart red fruits and savory with some green on the palate.
