opened not decanted 60 min Med gold color: complex nose of white cardamom and a little cinnamon and curry spices. The rich heavy body confuses with sweetness, but the wine is really dry to semi dry and at 22 yrs shows more fruit character than sugar. The acidity was the perfect counter point for a roasted pork chop with Gruyere cheese sauce. Perfect wine for the dish and another example of wines that are rich but not dessert like cloying. Bench mark wine for the difference between "sweet" and "concentrated but dry"

Grüner and Riesling fireworks at Apiary (NYC): Nowhere near the bottle I opened six months ago which was far more interesting and explosive in flavour. This shows earthy and coffee bean notes over white fruited flavours that pick up with air with a medium bodied, faintly creamy mouthfeel and a medium length finish.

Wine dinner at Cafe Cortadito (NYC): Bright gold colour. Fantastic, intense nose with white fruits, flowers, smoke and some vaseline. Full bodied in the mouth with a creamy, slightly oily texture and a flavour profile of white fruits infused with truffles, earth and smoke. Low acidity, but keeps great balance with a very long finish. Superb, drinking beautifully right now and I'm glad I have another bottle of this.

Golden yellow color. Exotic tropical fruit nose with a whiff of oxidation. Still has intense, rich, complex, oily fruit in the mouth with good structure and fine acidity. I served this very cold but it actually got fresher as it warmed up. Excellent depth and length. Time to drink up!

G6 (Jock): Oxidized nose. Stewed fruit. Flat on the finish. Over the hill? 13.7% alcohol.
