Medium violet. High toned, with a waxy nose, red currents, cranberry, spice cake. Tart but intense, and on opening a bit disjointed. Half a bottle left on the counter overnight came together and really integrated into an amazing Zinfandel, so this is a bottle to decant long in advance (or hold for a few years). But not thrilling for pop and pour at this stage, so if you do that, well I warned you!
Pairs particularly well with a homemade avocado on toast with lots of lime, coarse salt, Tabasco… not a mild snack. A wild pairing, for a wild wine!
