  • I thought the wine was a Sauvignon blanc and upon looking at its makeup I was correct. I guess it's kind of having a sauvignon blanc with a little bit of de Yquem. I think for the price that it is not something I will buy again. It was a nice sauvignon blanc, but not one worth $150. $150. I was kind of swayed by the de Yquem part of the wine, but it never came through and was not ascertainable. There were some melons and freshness in the palate. I thought there could have been some Viognier too. However, that was not the case.

  • decanted for more than an hour before serving. The first sip was so alcoholic and ripe, and the wine has obviously matured further from the bottle we tasted last year. A little acetone on the nose, along with muscat grapes.

  • Needs to be 10 or so degrees above refrigerator temperature. Not much to offer if it's cold, by my word, what a pleasure as it warms. Incredible richness. Tongue-tickling acidity. Enjoy with food or relish it on its own.

  • Bordeaux blends Paulée with Lay & Wheeler (The George): 75% Sauvignon, 25% Semillon. This was a seriously nice surprise; I had unfairly assumed Y (which I'd never tried before) was 'all mouth and no trousers', but this delicious, charismatic wine impressed everyone who tried it. About as opulent as one can make a white Bordeaux blend and keep it dry, the effect being like a (slightly) less aromatic top-quality Condrieu. Impressively focused given the weight of fruit. It's expensive, but I'm still tempted to pick some up...

  • Wow … this is indeed next level white Bordeaux wine.

Used to drinking white Pessac, but this is quite different ( imo ).

But good … extremely good !

  • more ripe on the nose and the palate than I had expected, but still had flinty notes on the nose in addition to lemon citrus.

  • Patio Time at Martina: Light goold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. I always love it when I have a chance to drink Ygrec. Vanilla custard, cut pears, stone, hint of lemon and more subtle tropical fruits. The palate has weight, a little on the oily side, good brightness, not heavy and quite fresh; pear, stone, subtle citrus, good length. Spot on. 93(+?)pts.

  • nose was very fragrant from the get go, with fresh lemons, very floral. On the palate it was a little more rounded than expected, pretty ripe on the palate, a little bitter on the finish and I could feel the alcohol burning as it goes down. On the nose there was tropical fruit like candied pineapple. Delicious.

  • First time with this wine. Super interesting, as it combines a creamy, rich and provocative flavor profile with streaks of stark mineral driven flavors in a sophisticated, yet citrus driven package. That meshing of contrasting styles makes it one of the better overall wines I have tasted with these varietals.

Aromas of lemon zest, apricots, orange rind, pears, white flowers, wet stone and crushed rock. Palate is at once firm and expressive, showing off wonderfully pure and concentrated flavors with serious depth of flavor. Big mid palate brings it to a higher level. Nice mineral driven streak, showing hints of savory notions as it progresses to a very long finish. Excellent.
