  • Slow ox’d for 3 hours then decanted for 3. Aromas of boysenberry, blackberry and Turkish coffee. Nose a bit closed. Flavors of blackberry, coffee, vanilla, black cherry, strawberry and rhubarb. Ends with a long finish of 40+ second with vanilla and black cherry notes. Extremely tasty but needs more air. Will update if needed.

  • 2 hour decant after several hours upright; drank over 2 nights. Inky black core of dark fruit, burning embers/smoke, leather, beef blood, white pepper; framed by ripe, plush tannins. Lingering finish. Beautiful acidity. Extraordinary wine.

This was my 2nd bottle and I was expecting to compare my notes to the first bottle opened in March 2023, but I neglected to post. This bottle was like a second date with a new girlfriend...I had a solid idea of what to expect and she delivered. I suspect this wine will take a few more years before it evolves into a more ethereal experience. Note to self: wait at least 2 years or slo-ox starting in the morning.

  • Decanted 5 hours, and it needed every minute. Paired with Chrissy Teigen's chili recipe (it's amazing!), which was a great pairing with this wine. Uber rich and mouthcoating, this is just massive. Lots of oak showing at this young age but the black fruit is almost overpowering, which I attribute to the petite sirah. Also showing some umami flavors; saline, tar, and scorched earth. Lots of chewy tannin that add a very grainy aspect, particularly on the finish. Acidity seems lower than I'd expect, which leads to a somewhat flabby midpalate. Finish is quite long, showing lots of vanilla and those grainy tannins. First impression is that this is way too young still. Recommended drinking window opens in 2028, but I felt I had to at least try one of these if I'm going to continue dropping $1500 a year on a 5-bottle case. I think this has a LOT of upside potential, so worth the cost of admission. Drink 2025 - ????

  • Have to confess on release I was less excited about Pets leading the blend on this wine - but then, a year later, I opened it!

This is such a nice wine. Definite common thread with the 2016 and 17 (very different grape blends). Dark and spicy. This definitely had that petite Sirah inkiness and texture, but none of the blue-fruit-grapiness that I tend to not like from pets. Really fun, big, novelty wine and great with the context - steak tacos with salsa matcha and bruselas.

  • decanted for 4 hours and still took a few minutes in the glass to open up. But just amazing wine. Dark, inky, full bodied. Definitely will cellar a long time

  • Deeply pitched purple and black-red fruits ooze on to the palate, with an entry that is intense but controlled. With a few hours in the decanter, the flow is enhanced and the saturation pulsates with a beautifully brooding posture that signifies depth and concentration. Roast beef, leather, and pink salt rock infiltrate the core, with bits of red raspberry and cassis darting through the otherwise cavernous black-purple profile. Finishes with a saline-inflected blackberry note that adds interest and length. The back end is all day long here.

Despite its infancy, this is more 'go' that many of Krankl's youngins. The heat is completely masked by the ripe (but not too ripe) fruit, with a velvet texture that is indeed his hallmark. A lot going on with this wine, with wild child flavors that somehow are in complete control. A next-level Petite Sirah and a Ferrari expression of the varietal that is without question one of the best I've ever tasted. You pay a premium and all, but if you want the best, well, you know...

This can be tapped now with a couple hours in the decanter, or better yet, watch what happens over the next 6+ years. I imagine it'll be a triple digit animal by then. 98-99+ points.

  • Unique and delicious. Dark, brooding purple. Lively dark berry fruit that isn't juicy. It's fresh and vibrant and satiating. Well constructed and delivering on every front.

  • Very nice, need to decanter 4 hours, aromas are amazing, and amazing petite sirah

  • Decanted 4 plus hours as partially instructed by the note provide in the case. On brand with other TTT offerings even with the Petite Sirah dominance. Denser and darker than prior iterations but still retains the balance of power to freshness you’d expect at this point. Ultra ripe dark fruit, raspberry, smoke, leather, herbs, mint and salty mineral. Tooth staining density with heat on the front that will take time to settle. Manfred is a master as outside of this I can’t imagine thinking a Petite Sirah is worth this premium.
