Great QPR rustic Italian. In the window with diminished tannin's and understated darker fruits that sit nicely on the earth notes. Day 2 better than day 1.

This wine has a taste profile that's Italian all the way. That may make no sense, but there is is something earthy and forest floor mushroom that I note in many Italian reds regardless of grape. I've noticed in italian ines even whe tasting blind, and it was here. Smooth earthy depth, light fruit. Light herbs. Excellent.

Merlot really comes through on the nose - blackberry, cocoa - also some mint and fecal notes. A bit rough and chewy; with dark fruit, green olive, pencil lead, and woody notes. Green tannins on the finish. Good acidity. Needs food and/or air.

Very nice Super Tuscan somewhat reminiscent of Meritage but lighter overall. Opens up nicely with a little time. Probably will do better if you Venturi or decant. Quite a bargain at $18.99.

This bottle was extremely barnyard with a lot of green pepper and olive clouding the entire nose and body of the wine. The wine had good acidity and depth but was extremely difficult to get around the vegetive nature of this wine.

Decanted two hours. Opened up more over the course of several hours. Nose more savoury than fruity touch of cassis under the cedar and rosemary with typical Italian porcini top note. Racy with smooth tannins sour cherry cranberry flavours. Fairly long finish with hints of roasted coffee.

Midweight, modern. Black plum and cassis fruit, obvious but not overpowering toasty oak, a bit of earth on finish. More tannins than the 2004 exhibited. Acidity is reasonably balanced. Can't say this screams Tuscany, but a pleasant if international wine.

This is a very nice wine with a lot of pleasant earthy components, tart red fruits, wild musrooms. There's a lot of Italian style in this wine. Dark red color, long finish. Reminds me more of Piedmonte than Tuscany. Probably infanticide but it went well with the spaghetti bolognese we made. 86 means Very Good and that's how I would describe this wine.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
Decent bottle. Nothing particularly noteworthy.

This is getting better as it ages. I could not pick it out as Italian in a blind tasting with other Bordeaux style blends.

Perfectly decent wine, but if I am going to drink a Cab-Merlot-Cab Franc mix, I prefer French wine. Why make French wine in Italy?

This is one that is getting better as it ages. Great color and a combo of a bit of "barnyard" and dark berries. Very smooth and great tannin balance.

Nice blend with barnyard balanced with berries and some green pepper. Believe it is much better than when last tried two years ago.
