Great QPR rustic Italian. In the window with diminished tannin's and understated darker fruits that sit nicely on the earth notes. Day 2 better than day 1.

This wine has a taste profile that's Italian all the way. That may make no sense, but there is is something earthy and forest floor mushroom that I note in many Italian reds regardless of grape. I've noticed in italian ines even whe tasting blind, and it was here. Smooth earthy depth, light fruit. Light herbs. Excellent.

Merlot really comes through on the nose - blackberry, cocoa - also some mint and fecal notes. A bit rough and chewy; with dark fruit, green olive, pencil lead, and woody notes. Green tannins on the finish. Good acidity. Needs food and/or air.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
Decent bottle. Nothing particularly noteworthy.

This is getting better as it ages. I could not pick it out as Italian in a blind tasting with other Bordeaux style blends.
