  • This is my favourite SVD from Dutton Goldfield, surrounded by Redwoods and close to the ocean, this shows notes of pine needles, forest floor, dark red cherry, liquorice, vanilla bean, sea salt, slight cayenne pepper spice. The palate is elegant, silky and shows tons of forest nature with dark red cherries, pine needles, red Indian spices, with super silky fine tannins, finish is slightly succulent and earthy yet precise.

  • Medium-dark garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe red cherries, blackberries & blackcurrants with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes pine needles, loam/forest floor, mint, spices, minerals, & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, raspberries & pomegranate with spices, minerals, herbs, cola & a bit of oak/vanilla. Drinks quite well at present but should develop further with a few more years of additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (93+). The fact that this particular vineyard is surrounded by redwoods is duly noted within the wine itself.

  • This wasn't my favorite from Dutton-Goldfield. It was ok but a bit too earthy with stronger tannins. Might be better in 2025?
