WOW! Take your time to enjoy. Was wonderful upon opening with at beautiful floral aroma. Limited sediment. That was dinner. But after a few days in the fridge, after warming to room temperature, the second half of this perfectly aged CAB shined in every way possible. Just stunning. A great pedigree from an excellent Producer.

Bought online with a provenance guarantee. It was OK but definitely tired. Other recent CT reviews may have set my expectations too high. Good but never got great.

Still drinking stunningly well - at peak or possibly just past peak with no further upside / significant eventual potential downside to holding onto this much longer, recommend drinking up any remaining holdings now. The 1st of 3 bottles recently acquired as part of a much larger cellar purchase and will drink the 2 remaining bottles over the upcoming holidays as well as the wine club tasting next year that we are hosting. Soft, integrated, balanced with oak & tannins all gone. Lovely soft nose of dark cherry, plum and cassis, dark purple with bricking, soft mouth feel, medium long aftertaste and initial cassis and dark stone fruit evolved into garrigue, forest floor, earth and ash. A great example of an aged matured high end CA Bdx - highly recommend.

Dark ruby, brick red edges, nose: sweet fruit with dusty earth and cedar, on the palate same with silky texture and seamless through to the medium long finish. peaking now, drink up it's really delicious juice, 13% alc.

Initial musty mushroom aroma upon opening. Needs some time to aerate, but really perfect on Day 2. Always seems to work best. Completely floral luscious dark ruby red and just a delight after 24 hours. Not amazing, but enjoyable.

Yes BUT no floral, rather tannic and acidic. Left it decanting but never really got smooth. Not quite what I imagined given it's pedigree. Clearly does not match Heitz or Hartwell from the same vintage.

Shipped to me from the winery upon release and cellared since that time. Bottle and cork are in fine condition. Color is deep red. Fruit is present upon tasting but dissipates quickly. I held this bottle too long but it is still pleasant although lightweight.

Nice oak, tobacco and cassis on the nose. Good balance with a silky smooth finish. Definitely showing age but drinking very nice. Wish I had a couple more.

A touch of funk and green pepper blew off almost immediately. This bottle was similar in quality to the previous one, though the fruit was darker, the passing secondary notes were very appealing, and the texture almost chewy. Still lively, with juicy acidity, faint tannins, and warm alcohol. Sweet, grapey, almost youthful through the finish. Nice wine, nice value. Drink now.

Drinking beautifully right now. Muted odor. A little tight and green pepper right out of the bottle. After about 45 minutes beautiful sour red fruit flavors bursting into palate. Tart medium after taste, but in a good way. Drink up now through 2015.

Initially, very subdued and a bit tired. Gains some weight and vibrancy after 15 minutes, but is still on the elegant and reserved side. Tobacco and a bit of cassis. Faint tannins on the finish, but for the most part, everything is integrated. From an aging perspective, this is in a pretty good place, and probably won't get any better.

Engaging rich cassis nose, nice spice, with some dusty, mushroomy Monticello character emerging. Fairly restrained and not particularly complex with a sweet floral and tobacco palate. Not a lot of vibrancy or freshness. Good but a little underwhelming for the pedigree.

No decant. This showed incredibly well right out of the bottle and over the next two hours. Very youthful, deep crystalline, pomegranate color. On the palate, this was still fresh, with a kiss of oak, sweet red berries, and pleasing hints of secondary development (a passing summer sausage note). Silky and wonderfully balanced, with alcohol, acidity and tannins doing their job perfectly. The finish was just a bit simple and short, but overall this is clearly a very well-crafted wine in a very classical style. Superb. Best to drink now, but should hold nicely for 2 to 4 years.

Decent nose of black fruit and cherries along w/ some earthy notes. The wine was a bit disappointing...plum fruit is the dominant theme with some herbal notes. The finish was a bit dry and not particularly long with the herbal flavor dominating over the fruit.

Jarvis Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Vertical (Home): Visually it was slightly dull. The bouquet was earthy and full of mushrooms and a loaminess. There were also struggling notes of menthol. It had a nice silky mouthfeel with notes of red fruit. Loads of chocolate on the finish. This was the last of a three year vertical, and the best one the first day. It opened a bit more the second day, but not as dramatically as the 92 and 93, and we were split as to which was the best on day two.

Still perfect. One of Jarvis' early efforts and held very well in the bottle. A ton of body, velvety smooth, great nose and everyone loved it. We drank this well after dinner, after a 1977 Fonseca Port (ran out) and it still held up beautifully.

This wine is still excellent. There is still good body, with a long finish. Nose has the characteristics of an older Bordeaux. The construction was different than the Jarvis of 2000 and forward, not as much fruit or oak... but, we had with Salmon and it was beautiful.

At home. Double decanted. Heavy fine tannins. Much better than last bottle which was heat stressed. Ripe delicious cassis w slight but good herbacenous. Throughly enjoyable. We finished 3/4 of the bottle. Has years to go.
