See PPANDIAN's Jan 2024 note below. Rate it a bit higher b/c structure and balance are quite excellent. Since 2022, Peay is under the new "West Sonoma Coast" AVA. For now this entry level Pinot continues to be very well priced.

For some reason, this 750ml tasted different and better than the magnum. Very fine grained tannins, well rounded and balanced in terms of acid, weight on the palate and grip. A hint of spice and dark berries.

Prince Saturday Tasting - USA New Arrivals (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Ooh, pretty jubey red and black cherry and berry, a little toasted oak in support, smells rich and quite compote. Nice nose in a big way. And so it proves on the palate, generous, pleasing, soft tannic burr persists long, pretty and good in the larger style for a pinot...

Decanted for about an hour. Sleek and focused wine with notes of cloves and licorice. Well balanced.

Excellent Peay foundation, though I don’t usually drink them quite so young. Needed an hour decant for the flavors to congeal into something special.
