  • Medium ruby, clear. Smells like cherry, smoke, cedar, orange, and licorice. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of cherry, lemon, and spice. Solid Italian food pairing supermarket purchase.

  • Distinct powerful funky nose, may offend or entice, as it evolves into fruit notes. Dark color. Young not quite settled, medium bodied fruit, on the rustic side with a dry mildly tannic edge. Fermentation may still be in progress. Interesting components needing time and food with flavor.

As I prepared chicken francese with pasta with pesto, the Chianti was observing and transposing. Brighter cherry notes, smoother on the palate. A Chianti with carrateri - Character.

    At $13+- a reliable paesan.
