I am not sure how to describe this bottle, the color was blurry and it had hints of Marsala on the nose that make me think this has been stored not in optimal conditions over time, this has affected the wine to a degree, the nose is out of focus, mature notes, a lot of licorice is what stands out, also after many hours in the bottle, overall an interesting experience but not worth the 95eur I paid for this bottle. Dont feel like rating this, wouldnt be fair

WOTN against the '12 Tignanello and '01 Castelgiocondo. Balanced blackberry fruit with perfectly integrated tannins lingers towards a good long finish. This is in mid drinking window now but has the stuffing to last another few years in good drinking window.

Dinner w/ basecadet, DoktaP, steve8 (Biff's, Toronto, Canada): Not decanted. Medium-dark ruby colour. Pretty nose of black plums, chocolate, caramel, tar, anise/licorice, flowers, and earth. Medium-full bodied, with black cherry, chocolate, black licorice and earth notes on the palate. Good acidity and grip. Moderate finish, ~30-35s, with black plums. Nicely done! Can drink now or cellar for another 3+ years.

Aromatic, dried berry, tomato vine, pepper, mushroom, spice, marmite an tar nose. Full, warm and assertive palate with superb flavours and balance; fresh and gripping with a long, long, spiced finish. Awesome. 5/5+

Garnet colored. Distinctive arimas of dark fruit, orange peel, anise and earth. Bright and tart and still quite fresh on the palate. A lovely wine.

Probably past its best. Thin and a bit oxidated.
