Very Chambolle in feel: raspberry and cranberry with a gamey edge which comes in and out across the bottle; early signs of further maturity but at the front end of that plateau. Enjoyable, maybe lacking a little excitement. ***

PnP. Ruby with slight browning towards the transparent rim. Earthy nose, some barnyard, oak. On the palate the typical sweet red fruit one expects in a Chambolle Musigny, and then again plenty of earth, spice. Medium finish. A very good village from a high quality producer which is holding up well at age 13, nevertheless lacks the clarity and aromatics of a more noble Cru.

Very pure red fruit on the nose, with some oak spice (though well restrained -- it doesn't get in the way). Supple texture, lush red fruit buffered by ample acidity, good lift and energy, still some tannins to shed. This isn't complex or earth shattering, just a pure and lovely Chambolle AOC with some years to go. I'll let the others rest.

More rich than the 1999, and more tannic. Nose of bramble fruits and underbrush. A bit dry on the finish. Makes me wonder if it would be better in a couple years. Probably not.

Very pretty. Just a touch of oak spice, nothing that detracts. Red fruits, lithe, tart, elegant. Lovely nose, with similar flavors that drop off a tad at the finish, but very nice. Could hold a little longer based on this bottle, but no crime to drink now.

Classic village-level Chambolle, elegant, feminine with lovely red fruit underneath nice spicy earthiness. Chambolles are the Audrey Hepburn of wine. Very enjoyable for this level of Burgundy. Sadly this was my last bottle.

From memory. Sour red fruits, spice and lavender on the medium intense nose. Medium acidity, feminine red fruits on the brusque mid-palate. Ripe tannins on the slightly warm, medium length finish.

Decanted immediately before dinner. Required Vinturi aerator.Tart cherry bouquet and flavor. Very light and food friendly Pinot Noir, which despite its being unexceptional, we nevertheless managed to consume the bottle oin one sitting.

Drunk alongside the Fourrier version, what was striking was how similar they were to each other - both dark centred, deep, with sweet rich cherry fruit. The Hudelot a tad fatter, showing perhaps the effects of more new oak. It just got better and better in the glass.

It's almost impossible to describe accurately the intricate aroma of good Burgundy. This wine was in that category. A good Burgundy very representative of it's origin and very enjoyable to drink. Not overly complex but with enough chalky/spicy notes to keep you interested from the first smell to the last taste. More feminine and elegant in style with fine tannins.

There is a fair whack of animale/camphorous brett on the nose along with more pretty ‘Chambollesque’ things. In the mouth there is good density of red and dark fruits but structural elements are starting to dominate. This is one 02 (and no orphan I suspect) that is heading the way of many 96’s in that it may be tucked in tight for a long slumber thanks to its high acidity and tannin.

Double decanted 6 hrs before dinner. Paired well w Pumpin Swordfish w Mushroom Salsa. Initially light w reticent nose, tart cherry flavor, and decent finish. Gained aromatics and weight after 1/2 hour. Enjoyable village Burgundy that is very drinkable now, with a 1 to 2 year window ahead.

(Rating at this moment) Closed nose with some sweet red berry fruit and kirsch. Becomes chocolatey and earthy after aereation. Good tannins, little bit rough sours. Lacks complexity and focus. Definitely too young. Needs some more years of bottle age.

Good color but muted on the nose. Very sour on the palate, I assume from acidity, but my lack of experience keeps me guessing. Overall decent quality but not memorable. 8/31/2007 Finished last two glasses, having been saved in the fridge under vacu-vin. Sourness slightly dimenished with no improvement on the nose or palate. Will hold last bottle a year or two to see if there is any improvement.

After cutting the capsule I noticed some residue. I also got a strong whiff of vinegar. Not a good sign. Pulled out cork and there was wine all up the sides. Getting worried. Poured out a couple glasses. Light-medium garnet. Very funky, almost 'dirty' smelling. Not happy. The wine was fine with food. I just left the bottle and glasses on the table. Well hour and a half later sat down to watch Roma v Inter and re-tasted. Wow, what a difference! Fragrant and persistent nose of turned earth, beetroot, Dr Pepper, red fruits, red cherry and a bit of spicebox. Refreshing moderate-high acidity, very little tannins though they are a bit grainy so noticeable, light bodied and delicate but lacy and distinct. On the palate a mix of red and black berried fruits, bing cherry, minerality and plums? and a surprisingly 'sneaky' long finish. I found the wine to be (after aeration) easily to be of 1er cru quality.

Very similar to the last bottle, with a saturated and indeed slightly seeping cork. Still fresh and well balanced with decent fruit...A little bland but performing above its level.

Very Chambolle flavors of red cherries, kirsch and a hint of damp earth. Pure, elegant frame with gripping tannins on the finish. The last 1/3 of the bottle was the best, as it started coming out of its demure shell and opened up nicely. I would decant 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving if you want to drink a bottle now.

Cork nearly saturated, so this may be an advanced bottle. Medium ruby color. Though tart on first opening, quickly came together with a balanced nose and palate of cherries, spice and just a little earth & pine sap. Riper than expected but classy & delicious.

Served with grilled NY strips on a Saturday night. I was a little dubious about this wine because it was in the $3.99 rack. But now I'm happy I grabbed all six bottles. Deep color; no bricking. Nose was a little muted at first but I picked up some cherry and mocha over the course of the dinner. Overall, I'd say fairly simple, but then this is a village CdN, not a grand cru. I believe this will improve some over the next 3-5 years. Looking forward to the next bottle.

Color is a bit deeper than I would expect for the house, high toned nose of red cherries and a bit of spice. On the palate, a bit angular and tannic, but very fresh and vibrant. This is a bit tight right now, but could be very good in about 5 years.

Serious effort for a village wine although not so clearly Chambolle. It's a fairly masculine wine with dense fruit and tannin and assertive acid, red-fruited with notes of violets and a slight mocha character. Impressive if a bit big and rugged for the label.

Muted nose of cinammon and cherries. Nice lush palate with a rush of red fruits, black olive and pine needle. Still very simplistic wine that has suprisingly good verve and acidity for such a ripe year. Keep this puppy hidden for a few- its one of the least accessible 02 burgs ive tasted. this is not showing any leg right now. But the balance fruit and acidity is there - i have faith.
