  • My local store was out of the 21' tardive so I sprung for the regular roilette. This bottle felt a bit tight on PnP, with some green earthy notes backed by acidity. As it started to open, the strawberry/cherry notes started to come out. Overall, an enjoyable experience, and can't complain at $20.

  • Tasted after a 30 minute decant. Pale ruby in colour with amazing rich aromas of earth & blossoms. On the palate, medium bodied tart & juicy red fruit, sour cherry, wild strawberry, very floral, violets, fresh earth, oak is not noticeable, high acidity, low tannins with a long finish to sour cherry & an earthy minerality. This wine falls into the unusual, unexpected & very appreciated category!

  • Al naso media consistenza di profumi. Un gradevole bouquet di frutti rossi, fiori e note agrumate. Al palato buon equilibrio, fresco. Medio corpo, rotondo e setoso. Interessante sottilezza. Fruttato e molto gustoso, media persistenza. Ottima qualità. Piaciuto.

  • Great blend of ripe and tart. Ready to drink, with strawberry, some darker fruit, and a touch of mulchy soil. Balanced sweet tannin and an extra kick of acidity. Very nice right now.

  • Day one this was nice on the nose at first and then got very green and the palate was sour. Much better today.

Very pretty nose when first poured - dark cherry and wild strawberry. Some florals and a very strong Roilette green herbal streak. Very fresh and maybe sharp. Verging on bitter. Palate has loosened up some but still sour. Bright red berries and cherries and lots of green herbal. High high acid and very fresh and crisp. Palate starts with a surge of umami green herbs with hints of red ruits and florals and some stony minerality. Will probably improve with another day or two open.

Right now this is a little disappointing. Not sure if it’s the vintage or if it’s that I’ve mostly been drinking the Tardive for the last few years. Let’s see what day 2 and 3 bring. Nose: 4.5-5/6, Palate: 4.5-5/6, Finish: 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi: 1/2 = 13.5-14.5/20.

  • From half bottle. A throwback to the past - relatively light on its feet, acid gives freshness, medium length with limited tannins. Great beaujolais, but also simple a good wine. 2021 supposedly not a great vintage, but give me this any day over the recent sunny vintages.

  • Really nice. Darker garnet colour. Cherries, raspberries and earth. Nice acidity and tannins for structure. Well balanced with nothing out of place. Very much enjoyed this.

  • Good acidity, quite a bit of grip for Fleurie - lot of structure and arguably a bit closed, but clearly well made and could probably use a few more years of rest. Pure red fruit - cranberries and cherry, pepper and tea.

    Significantly better on Day 3.

  • A bit richer and sweater than prior vintages.

  • Interestingly, a year ago, quaffed the 2020 vintage of this wine, and came up with the same 87 score.

I gave it the benefit of my doubt then, and I'll give it 86 this year. Maybe it's my bias for Moulin-a-vent...

This wine is enjoyable for what it is, but to me, it's not spectacular.

I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd day in the decanter to sip the remainder of this magnum.
    * Addendum -
This gets 85 from me. It's definitely not better after 2 days!

Typical Gamay sparkling Ruby red color
    Pale Ruby
Nose pronounced fresh cut violets, raspberries and cassis( black currants)
    Orange zest
    Earthiness, ever so slight

    Body light
    Acid? Med low
    Alcohol med
    Tannins light

Good wine, well made, and there's nothing wrong with it....
Except, I shan't spend anything on this again.

I could try the Tardive Cuvee`, just to see if it's better.
But, it likely takes a little time in the cellar, but will a slightly more tannic recipe of this wine, actually get better?
    For me, not measurably...

    And then it's, opportunity cost!
There's just too many better wines out there, including Cru de Beaujolais', so... can you say, Moulin-a-vent?

    On to the next!
(Maybe Drouhin IS the winery of choice in Beaujolais?)

    PS- Drink The Rainbow!

  • Needs 20+ minutes to open up. Pretty strong favors of red cherry with a dark woodsy and slightly musky undertone with notes of metallic. Higher acid with elevated tannins.

  • Medium ruby. Cherries and cedar on the nose. On the palate high acidity medium body medium alcohol, cranberries and strawberries, sage, white pepper. Long finish.

  • Fairly complex and a bit lighter bodied than I remember from this producer. Still excellent but I think this will fare better after one or two years in the cellar.

  • Nose: Wormwood, geranium, light notes of mushroom and soil. Dusty cherries.

Palate: Light entry with a nice balance and some sweet red fruit. Very light tannins. Overall quite dry but elegant and with a nice aftertaste.

  • Good expression of Gamay. Classic red fruits

  • This is everything it should be except that it disappeared too fast. That gorgeous gamay dark ruby color, light cherry and strawberry nose with some spice and earth notes. Lovely mouth feel - very sensuous in a light-bodied way, with initial fruit notes which give way just before and on the finish to some darker earthy notes. Pretty well-balanced - a bit higher acidity would have carried the finish even longer. But this is a real favorite carrying high QPR.

  • Pepper, cardamom, tobacco raspberry, red cherry on the nose with great intensity of aromas. Vegetal notes on the palate followed by red fruit, mint and green herbs. Medium bodied with medium - tannin. Drinking excellently at this young age!
