When i first opened this it i was disappointed. It was tannic and high in acid. Then after 2 hours it really started to open up. Violets and charcoal on the nose, beautiful mid-palate and an elegant finish. I think this has another 4-6 years of life, but great today but needs at least 2 hours in a decanter.

This was made to match with copper river salmon! Vinturi decant for 1.5 hrs, this has a young dark ruby color. The fruit and earth elements of this wine blend seamlessly and go on and on. Because of that depth, I'm sure someone could pick out a dozen or two flavors. All you need to know is this is a hedonistic New World Pinot that has improved since I last tried it in '09. Still has 4+ years, I'm not that patient...

Dark ruby color, nose that really opened up over an hour. Full-bodied, nicely balanced with flavors of dark fruit, mushroom and green olive. Silky mouthfeel, medium finish. Tasted against some nice Burgundies, and this was my favorite.

Very different than the last two bottles I've had...more a cross of California and Oregon...the fruit is promenant and there is decent acidity...but it's just not as impressive as the past few times. Still an outstanding wine

Dark ruby to purple color. Lovely nose of dark fruits, spice, olive. Palate of dark cherries, some kirsch, spice, earth. Gentle tannins. Incredibly balanced and satisfying. Really outstanding. This was my WOTN.

Properly stored and decanted before tasting. Not finding the nose, complexity or finish I was expecting . Not even close. Just blah in every category. Very disappointing for the price. Had a pinot at 1/4 the price yesterday that blew this away. Will give the next more time, hopefully to develop, as I have nothing to lose.

Another lovely bottle...This is just shy of something that is classic. I have to say that this is the wine that has me questioning my strong desire to unload all of my cellar....

Dark Ruby/Purple color. Nose of dark fruits, spice, olive, earth. Similar on the palate with a great earthiness and tannic background. This was a really terrific bottle of wine. I will likely wait 3-4 yrs to drink my other bottle--if I can.

OUTSTANDING: A beautiful pigeon's blood ruby color in the glass this wine has intense scents of spice, wild Maine blueberries, and freshly picked blackberries, and a light hint of freshly tilled earth and granite. ith the mouth it's light but flavorful as red & black fruits collide on the palate...almost classic.

Tasting the Willamette Valley--Take 2; 7/9/2008-7/10/2008 (Willamette Valley, OR): Taken from the Bergstrom/de Lancellotti vineyards. Dark ruby color. Nose of cherries, olive, earth, smoke. Similar palate. Good tannins which will give this one some longevity. This has been my very favorite of the Bergstrom wines since I started tasting them.

Solid, dark fruit, touch of smoke, good minerality and a proper finish.

cherries and berries with a hint of cola. Really well structured wine with things nicely in balance.

Evolving nicely with balanced fruit and earth notes. Some spice highlights the "berry" good finish. Lots of time.
